Time after time they hype polls and narratives that turn out not to be slightly inaccurate but the complete opposite of the reality on the ground. When Trump fails to become the nominee and is indicted criminally next Summer there will likely be some TV execs jumping off buildings as there is no way they will be able to sustain the numbers their bosses now take for granted.
He has already been indicted criminally. Do you mean convicted?

...Billionaire Republican donor Peter Thiel regrets supporting Trump for president:

“Voting for Trump was like a not very articulate scream for help. There are a lot of things I got wrong.”, he told The Atlantic.

On the Trump administration: “It was crazier than I thought. It was more dangerous than I thought. They couldn’t get the most basic pieces of the government to work. So that was—I think that part was maybe worse than even my low expectations.”...
Fair play to him for admitting he got it so wrong.

There will be SO many people in the same boat (Sentiment and vote, not money) that voted for change and drain the swamp promieses that ended up being an absolute disaster.

Of course, not many will openly admit it, but they'll either swing.. or not vote at all.

The difference with Thiel is that he has probably pumped hundreds of millions of dollars in over the past decade. Apart from the Kochs he has consistently been the biggest donor. His money out of the game, the Kochs money out is a seismic dent in the GOP prospects. I'm not aware of any other megadonors on that level still in the game.

He's not though,
Last quarter he says he raised $45m, when Biden raised $73m, but the trump campaign didn't say where the money came from. Remember they've been pulling money back from the Pacs...
https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-campaign-sa...

Then his actual FEC filing said $24m - so lies being told again
https://www.politico.com/news/2023/10/16/fec-filin...

Now consider how much legal spending he's been doing...

A small fraction of what he used to in his heyday.

And as pointed out it's primarily being spent on legal defense (and servicing a few debts too I have no doubt).
No real 'campaign spending' appears to be going on.

I think Thiel said something along the lines of he thinks de santis would make a good president, but no cash until after the primary.

Which is slightly odd given Trump and De Santis views on homosexuality and that Thiel is openly gay.

Adelson dead, Wynn taken out, Kochs out and now Thiel who was the last big donor left.

Trump will not have money for lawyers at this rate, forget his fake 'campaign'. But don't expect to see this reported on CNN..

Billionaire Republican donor Peter Thiel regrets supporting Trump for president:

“Voting for Trump was like a not very articulate scream for help. There are a lot of things I got wrong.”, he told The Atlantic.

On the Trump administration: “It was crazier than I thought. It was more dangerous than I thought. They couldn’t get the most basic pieces of the government to work. So that was—I think that part was maybe worse than even my low expectations.”

Thiel also said he won’t support the corrupt former president in the next year's election.
Leonard Leo still has pots of cash.

Perhaps they could change his mind by introducing him to the new speaker of the house . . . biggrin

Thiel had two handpicked candidates he bought and paid for in 2022. Vance won, Masters flopped miserably. Of the two Masters was extremely close to Thiel (perhaps in a way Republicans wouldn't understand). So I guess he had a 50% return last year.

People with Thiel's money don't need things to be legal. Just "legal for them".
Philanthropy is not a GOP trait.

trump again has reiterated he'll be going after people he thinks has slighted him, full retaliation using the DOJ if he gets elected in 2024.

Many people pointing out Judge Cannon has tried pulling a fast one. Whilst announcing shes not delaying the trial date for now, she has moved the pretrial motions from 3 Nov to 22 Feb and schedule doesnt account for motions filed under the Classified Info Procedures Act (CIPA) Sec 5 & 6., so it'll introduce delays all the way along the process.

She's delayed for trump, whilst trying to make it look like she hasn't.

Claims that trump has broken his release conditions he signed and agreed in court he understood

Remember that Glock that got trump into trouble, forced his campaign to backtrack. It seems last weekend it was auctioned off at magalago during a charity event.
