A bizarre chain of thought.
I'd have thought that with the levels of righteous indignation you have shown over (most) misdemeanours in public life you'd leading the charge to want to understand whether Rayner is telling the truth or not!
P'raps you are just as guilty of having blinkers on as some of those you delight in accusing multiple times a day?

"If there's any sign of wrongdoing they should investigate and take the appropriate action."
Not silence followed by "Can't change what went before. What happens next is not so fixed."
Apologies if I've missed a long history of you calling out all the bent st the current lot have been up to.
Really not sure I have though.
Looks like Rishi's stance on the war on the motorist isn't going to be as popular as he'd hoped. Love the fact that they set out to prove something and tried to bury the report when it proved the opposite.

Tory MPs who spent several hours ‘talking out’ a bill to make upskirting a criminal offence in 2018 have now been knighted for their ‘services to public life’.
“Do not underestimate just how furious many Tory MPs are about this. This kind of thing does far more damage to the public’s view of our party than endless debates about customs arrangements,” Paul Masterton MP tweeted.

I think the key wording there is that is was a sample of people inside the LTN’s, and a majority liked them, which I’d say is entirely unsurprising https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/mar/08/lo...

The more I hear about this chap the less I like him. I feel a bit used having initially thought of him as a good chap supporting the party her feels is best. Now I feel he may be simply trying to cause trouble for the conservatives by involving them in a family dispute.
My advice to Rishi would be to give the money back. If he has spent it on tory stuff he should give him an IOU guaranteed by Grant Shapps.

The quote from Paul Masterton was from 2018, and is not recent.
And Phillip Davies spoke in favour in the voyeurism act when it was debated. And it become law anyway in 2019.

[quote=hidetheelephants]Does get signed just by Grant or do the other 3 have to sign it as well? [
I was only aware of another 2 names ?
If there is a third then it just goes to show that the very best people want to join the tories.
On the other hand it's been a great week for Grant Shapps he hasn't put a reported foot wrong. He may not have stepped outside his house all week but that's not the point.
In the event that Rishi is forced out of office by other spineless MP's who want to get rid of their leader a replacement must be able to take over.
There is a wealth of talent within the Tory party (just as there is in the Labour and Lib Dem parties). This pool of potential leaders will need to be narrowed down and Grant may well be the best replacement leader.
By staying out of trouble he may be best placed to be the man who saved the Tories.
