Latest Glen Sannox delay - end of July now, though don't hold your breath. They're still blaming it on the LNG system, despite a large amount of other things on there far from completion even at this stage.

If Isle of Islay arrives before stbox is ready, will it go straight into service or will they be stupid enough to delay it so stbox can pretend to be in service first?Latest Glen Sannox delay - end of July now, though don't hold your breath. Wonder what will be ready first: Lochmor (number 4 from Cemre), Glen stbox or Glen Rusty?

I said somewhere on a forum near the start of this fiasco that the whole dual fuel thing was unwanted complication for a bit of green virtue signalling. I was told I was talking nonsense by someone who claimed to have a bit of knowledge in the field. Latest Glen Sannox delay - end of July now, though don't hold your breath. There is no satisfaction in having been proved right. As well as more cost, more delay there are actually little if any environmental benefits. Any small CO2 reduction being cancelled by increased methane leaks into the atmosphere.

This year thats enough to lose the vote in the election on the islands.

There will be hell to pay if they have a useable ship in port and one of the old ones breaks down and they dont put it in service.

It hasn't bothered them before so nothing will change, they will do whatever it takes to deflect the issues. This year thats enough to lose the vote in the election on the islands.

You're under the impression, understandably from the misleading PR statements, that the ship is good to go except for the LNG system - it's not. This year thats enough to lose the vote in the election on the islands.
The passenger areas still haven't been fully outfitted even after working on them for 8 months, a large amount of engineering stuff is still not complete, and there are literally hundreds of snagging issues. Even if they'd built these ships as pure diesels, they'd have made a hash of them.

If they take delivery of the Turkish ferry and put it in storage to get the GS into service first for the PR oppurtunity it will not go down well with the islanders when a ferry breaks down and they try to say they dont have a replacement.

Ah, my mistake - no, I don't think they're mad enough to do that, but then again the tendering for the Islay ferries was delayed so as not to embarrass Ferguson's further (or so they thought), and the small ferries tender has been delayed so Ferguson's have a chance to bid now they have a clear slipway.........If they take delivery of the Turkish ferry and put it in storage to get the GS into service first for the PR oppurtunity it will not go down well with the islanders when a ferry breaks down and they try to say they dont have a replacement.

I thought the small ferries contract was delayed because there is no money left in the piggybank. Though they are not actually delayed. They are "re-profiled"https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-po...

There's no money left now, but there should have been; the procurement process was supposed to have started in 2022, as part of the £550 million-odd investment by ScotGov in ferries, but started about a year late. The two Port Glasgow ships, however, have hoovered up most of that money due to a myopic obsession to complete them regardless of cost or delay.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-po...

Difficult to believe St Nicola was unaware
It’s certainly an interesting question. I remember the leaked video zoom call of senior party officials where somebody had the temerity to ask about the accounts and Sturgeon got rather angry and belligerent. It’s all becoming a bit clearer now…This one

How on earth did Murrell think he could get away with this? Difficult to believe St Nicola was unaware
I would imagine that more people would have known if it turn's out he's guilty, strongly suspect he wouldn't be able to do what is alleged working alone surely? I am amongst those keeping a decent Malt on standby for what is hopefully the inevitable.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-68856924
Sturgeon "its been incredibly difficult, but its not the main issue here" what the hell does that mean.
So called husband old Pete charged with embezzlement and its not the main issue...does Sturgeon know something else is coming.
Self preservation mode engaged...I've said it before if Sturgeon goes down everyone else goes down as well.

She's probably angling to blame Westminster for the state of Scotland - again. Sturgeon "its been incredibly difficult, but its not the main issue here" what the hell does that mean.
