I was wrong about him getting away.

Oh well.

Suicide? That wasn't very Christian of him.

If true, it's a sad day for the mother and her children as they'll never get justice.

I did try to point out that him jumping into the Thames was far more likely than him organising a private jet to Rio where he would undergo reconstructive facial surgery and then live the rest of his life drinking cocktails on a beach…..

Good riddance, what an evil, misguided scumbag.

Police seem to think so, based on clothing and items on the body.
But we won't know for sure until DNA and/or dental tests confirm.

They can be pretty sure he's not coming back, though.

I confess that I have fortunately never seen a body that was marinating in river water and then left out on the side of the tidal Thames for 2 weeks but I'm genuinely surprised that "half his face was all melted and gross, eurgh" isn't a better indication of his identity than his clothing?

Every day is a school day.

Kind of puts you off open water swimming...
Having ended up swimming in the Thames upstream from there due to an error whilst rowing, I can safely say that swimming in the Thames is very off-putting in general. You only do it once, and when wading out to the bank all you can think is Weil's disease, dirty needles and sewage.

From what I recall human skin and flesh slews off easily after being submerged. If I sit in the bath for an hour my fingers start to shrivel.

I also assume that lots of organisms will be feasting on all the tasty soft tissue.

Yep and your body starts to bloat and discolour badly as well, causing all sorts deformations that can throw off an easy identification.

At least there’s some closure.

I hope he suffered and died a slow and painful death.

Could the Police be any more predictable? Absolutely hopeless. In a city covered in cameras they don’t know, really??
Hmmm ok,

Let’s think about it for a moment .. he’s seen going onto the bridge from the north bank .. he’s not seen leaving either by the north or south bank

Somewhere between the north and south banks of the Thames he disappeared

At some point probably around Wapping, in a couple of weeks, a body is likely to be discovered
Pretty much spot on

Yep, it's almost like someone who knows about the reality of policing posted it.

Er, well, Tower Pier is 1.2 miles from Wapping and it was nearly 3 weeks to find him, but not a bad guess.

With all the searching for him he can't have been there 2 weeks, can he?

The timing of finding people in rivers was given some airing in the Nicola Bulley case - people with experience in these matters said it would be 3 weeks and she was found after 3 weeks 2 days. This guy was a day less than 3 weeks.

The cold water slows down decomposition and means they balloon up with gasses later than if in warmer water.
