And it’s difficult to think of any punishment currently available here that fits that crime, frankly. Carelss removal of limbs by a blindfolded surgeon during an anesthetic shortage, perhaps.
We are not savages & won't descend to that level. Following fair trial & conviction an unemotional bullet to the back of the head or similar execution would be acceptable, not rage-based torture & disfigurement.jshell said:

Gammon?
Why are you using racist slurs? Are you a racist?
You must be from the US right given the time(s) you posted on this thread? Gammon is as racist as calling someone a snowflakeWhy are you using racist slurs? Are you a racist?
Gammon comes from reference to a skin colour. Some claim it's used to refer to a windbag for reasons they can't explain, but I've never heard someone use gammon to refer to Sadiq Khan, for example.

The skin colour you refer to is because it derived from overweight little Englanders whose gammon coloured cheeks grow increasingly red and purple as they raged about the latest headline in the Daily Mail. To call it racist is pure comedy. But entirely predictable. It’s about as racist as Karen.

I know that calling it racist upsets people who want to say it (ironic... the people they are calling "gammon" also seem to get upset that they are not allowed to use racial slurs). But that same logic also stops people using other "mild" racial slurs. Let's just y'know, NOT use racial slurs. Call people tts, dheads, aholes, whatever. We have so many other ways to call a knobhead a knobhead.
Just leave the racist stuff alone or the rest of us will think you are a racist prick.

Because terrorism means something else.
It's a bit like saying stalking should be classified as GBH.
I think there may be elements of terrorism in this attack, because the motivation for such attacks is often as much about suppressing women as it is a personal attack. It's a bit like saying stalking should be classified as GBH.
But the boundaries of terrorism and hate crime maybe don't matter.
A vicious attack with life-changing consequences is much the same whatever the motivation.
