Dreadful waste of money. Shall we rename England Scotland Wales and NI ? How about changing the names of football teams. Just shows the incompetence of people that get elected

biggrin But also missing the point that nothing has been "renamed" because the lines didn't have names in the first place.

Some might say that's a technicality but I think it's helpful that they have names and colours on the map like tube lines. Whether that's being done in a prudent way is another matter.

It's the Far Left rubbing the Rights nose in it. But that's what we've come to expect from the Far Left types over the last few years. And then you wonder why the more extreme Right Wing parties gain traction, and you cry over Brexit.
You may think it's all very clever and progressive, it's just a shame you don't realise how divisive pathetic nonsense like this only serves to make the division greater in our society.
The simple fact is, London won't be better as a result of renaming these train lines.

I don't see a problem with naming the lines, I just think the names could have been more practical. Two of them used to be called the North London line and the East London line before becoming parts of the Overground network. Why not stick with those, at least then people would know where they went. But I've no idea where the Windrush line or the Suffragette line goes, the names don't relate to the purpose of the lines in any way. Think of tourists who have never used the tube network before, will these names help them or just confuse them even more?

Grrrr Lefties! Cry me a river hehe

Who would have thought that the self proclaimed silent majority and backbone of Britain would get upset by the names of a few trainlines that they'll never use in a place that they'll never visit.

No more or less confusing that most of the other names..

Northern Line - has the most southernmost station on the whole Underground.
Circle Line - isn't a circle any more..

Explain to me what’s ‘far left’ about any of the names?

Exactly. Where do the Jubilee, Metropolitan or District lines go? Or the Victoria and Piccadilly lines? They pass through those places but you get no clue as to which way they head.

Seems the names do have a connection to where the lines go or go through?

According to this, the North London Line went to Richmond in SW London.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_London_line#:~...

And the East London Line now goes to Clapham/Croydon.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_London_line

So not very helpful in informing people where they go. And as has been pointed out, very few tube line names tell us anything. Do any of them?

People like you who can't understand why normal people don't just roll over and agree with every bit bit of idiotic nonsense the left dream up.
Yeah it's really 'normal' to get worked up about some train line names isn't it.

He's demonstrated that people like Yertis are the ones crying over a name.

Most people have just accepted it and moved on because it really doesn't affect them.

OK... It does slightly affect me... If I were to go into London I'd find the overground slightly easier to navigate. Oh the horror. I've "rolled over" to a slightly easier to use system... The horror.

I hear they gave a new road in his area a name. Since then he has spammed his Tory MP with emails complaining about the far left naming roads………
