They’ve all had their jabs, no problem.

Genuinely amazed that anyone could consider Rayner an asset or a threat. It’s a nice story for the soshul jusstiss warriors, nothing more.

They really are terrified of her.
What is there to be terrified about?

I certainly dislike her politics, and her personally, but why would that be terrifying?
She's not terrifying to those with half a brain.

She's terrifying to the Tories and their rusted ons because shes competent and normal people can relate to her. Also she has a nasty habit of pointing out the things that Tories have done wrong.
Competent?

I'm still not seeing how she is terrifying. She comes across as stupid and devisive, and classes half the electorate as scum. I would class myself as normal and don't relate to her at all.

Her brand of politics and class war was rejected by the country at the last election, and the only reason she has her current position is Starmer can't get rid of her.
Half the electorate?

She was referring to the Party.
Why just the party? Surely if you vote Tory you have the same values and beliefs?
Not necessarily.

How many people on here say they vote for the least worse option.

Didn’t she say the comment was aimed at ministers?

If I am splitting hairs I don’t think over half the electorate voted for the conservatives anyway.

I'd rate her as slightly less formidable than the lettuce Truss struggled against. More formidable than Truss, but it says so little.

It's a crying shame Labour party members think she's a better orator than, say, Hillary Benn, or others who can string a sentence together.

You'd have to be pretty thick to think that criticisms leveled at MPs applied equally to those that voted for them.

Eg I think that Johnson is a philandering, egotistical, weak willed, liar.

I don't think that applies to the 14m people who voted for him in 2019.

To be fair I was thinking of the more partisan voters. A large proportion of voters will vote for a political colour/ideology. How does she view those tories?

Half is not meant to be taken literally. There are two main parties who swap being in power every decade or so, and have a fair proportion of MP's.

She wasn't being specific to one person and their defects. It was being Tory she labeled as scum.

Maybe I'm just thick. I did manage to leave school with a few O levels and no kids though!

Yes, but she did apologise...eventually.
I'm enjoying the delusions coming from some posters who imagine that AR is formidable at the despatch box and that she strikes fear in the hearts of Tory members.

The GCSE exam was introduced in 1988 so the last people to take GCE 'O' levels took them in 1987. So not necessarily a sign of being 'old'. Not having to take the driving test - now that's old!

..She said in September 2021 & apologised in October, so yanno,,,eventually. Anyhoo, inbetween those two events, James Gray MP said a bomb should be planted in Annelise Dodd's office. Funny how the same old windbags bang on like records with a scratch over Ange's Tory scum & never remember the other thing. Maybe they're getting on a bit & the old memory ain't what it used to be. Yes, I'm sure that's it.

It’s well known that Penny Mordaunt is terrified of Angela Rayner after Rayner took Mordaunt to task in the HoC.

Memory... Yes. How could you not remember the earlier "scum" episode from AR a year earlier? So yes, she did apologise..... eventually

I wouldn't go as far as that but they definitely need some labelling after voting for a party led by that fkwit. That was the final straw for me. Would rather see anarchy than get so far down the road of apathy/least worst that we end up scraping the arse clean out the barrel for the fungus ridden detritus that's living under it. YMMV.

And no, i won't be voting Labour at the next election.

Hmm, sticking with the dementia angle I reckon, since you've clearly confused a spat with Chris Clarkson on Wednesday 21/10/20 which elicited an apology the very same day & remarks made a year later at an after hours fringe event, which generated an apology a couple of weeks later.

Would sir like to try again?

Somebody else saying something unacceptable doesn't make what Rayner says and does acceptable.

No I agree. However, if posters continually criticise Rayner's character, then it's reasonable to look at the bigger picture. And the bigger picture looks like Pincher, Blunt, Menzies, Johnson, Wragg, Bone, Hancock, Bridgen, Knight, Warburton, Mone...

Rayner might be a wrong'un, we shall see but I do know tedious sanctimony when I see it.
