I think this is a pre agreed retaliatory strike to allow Iran to keep its vow.

It's a negotiated, symbolic face save with no real harm done
Yep. I’m with you on this. This will have been agreed upon between the US and Iran. The drones -and possibly a Cruise or two - will cause a bit of damage and that will allow the Iranian government to save face.

Or WWIII by Monday.
This might well exacerbate the situation

Israel is in danger of becoming a rogue state at this stage. Why *should* we enable their reckless behaviour?
To claim Israel is a rogue state, but no mention of Iran being one laugh
We know what Iran is. Israel pretends to be different.

Netanyahu : "Right, that's bloody *it*. Nuke Iran, in fact nuke the whole sodding Gulf."

Chip The Deaf Head Of Israeli Defence Forces: "Right. Nuke the Golf. Got it".

Enjoy whatever luxuries you take for granted while you still can.
Any tips on securing bathrooms against 100kt air burst at 15 miles? - I'm guessing that's what Exeter will get.
450mm of reinforced concrete with at least 2m of earth overburden, I also recommend lead-lined underpants.

drones with 9 hour batteries?
The Shahad uses a small petrol engine.
even so, 9 hours of petrol, plus a payload - seems unlikely to do much damage?

Are the lead lined underpants to prevent a chernobyl fallout situation?

There is some US air assets in northern Iraq.

We only know this as as tanker has just had to declare and emergency and is diverting back to Qatar.

Currently top tracked on fr24.

This is weird

I don't think I have ever heard of an air strike happening hours before anything is actually meant to get hit.

Been times where we knew stuff was going on, like the the Ukraine war it was widely reported that air strikes were to be expected the night it happened, but I don't remember there being reports of confirmed launches with details about what was happening hours ahead of them arriving.

Well, it had been flying a race-track pattern over Iraq indicative that it had been refuelling something, but that doesn't mean they were necessarily US recipient aircraft - the US has practised refuelling Israeli Air Force aircraft in the past.

Feels a bit like WW1 bi-planes. I'll be amazed if one of them hits its target.

Missiles a bit different… if there are any.
