You have no outrage that the police use horses as weapons and endanger the horse's welfare?
That's an entirely separate debate. We're in crazytown when people are literally unable to call out some scumbag trying to attack a Police horse.

No no no it's fine he only tried to hit the horse.
These things matter apparently.

How are they endangering their welfare exactly and as for weapons, get a grip.
In some circumstances, the horses are put in a dangerous position and risk injury.
However, yesterday was not a violent protest / riot.

The Police have ridden horses towards crowds at a gallop before. Tell me what happens to a person who happens to be in the way of a ~500kg horse + rider (>60kg)? I imagine they don't walk away unscathed?
You'd think anybody with two braincells would know not get in the way of a 500kg horse.Countdown said:

Come on you're really making a meal of this - one minor thing over the course of an entire day. I get you hate this country and its inhabitants, but getting all frothy over people not condemning the attempted horse hitting is scrapping the barrel.
Yeah I don't like people who riot and who attack animals so I hate my country. You've got it.

Because if he had walk into the group the expectation was that he would have been attracted and this was seen as normal. None of them condemned the group that would have attacked him as pathetic thug's.
This case the police decided for no real reason I can tell go in heavy handed antagonising a group just walking down a street.
From what I can tell the group posed no real threat to anyone they weren't attacking anything or anyone. But riot gear and horses were used, one horses goes into a group needlessly putting people in danger. Then one gets a bang on the nose and it's travesty.
I'm sure if the Jewish guy had walked into the crown and got a punch the people here crying about the horse would be saying "well it's his own fault what did he expect".

This message is repeated numerous times prior to the horses heading in, they aren't simply just sent in from nowhere, those choosing to ignore those messages are to blame for any injuries they sustain.
The horses we saw the yesterday with the umbrella incident were there to reinforce the cordon when people tried to breach it and weren't sent into the crowd to disperse them.

You've surely got to think that if the position asserted requires the above to defend it, then the position might be untenable.bhstewie said:

Honestly this thread is bonkers.Between that and people suddenly who are fine with scum attacking a Police horse I think I've heard it all now.
Really didn't think I'd see people defending that kind of st but there you go.

Sad really because just when you think the association of the St. George's flag with the "bad old days" of hooliganism is past us those scumbags go and do that.
Good to see people calling it out though rather than immediately launching into some whataboutery about other protesters.
Spend some time in Marseille on a match weekend. That'll wake you upSad really because just when you think the association of the St. George's flag with the "bad old days" of hooliganism is past us those scumbags go and do that.

Obviously the French riot police have a reputation for looking kindly upon flag-swaddled pissed-up English louts, generally just checking if they're OK for beer or would like a few complimentary crates of Kronenbourg 1664 from the back of the police van just to keep them nicely topped up, and obviously they wouldn't go in for any of that nasty scary police-horse business on account of having eaten them all.Statement released from the Met...

Isn't he the one who got dropped by his agent after some slightly iffy comments? Not sure I'd be using him as my poster boy on this one.
He can’t be satirising the Police and their views because he’s literally saying words and phrases that some in here and the right wing use, not the Police.
But I think he’s too daft to realise.
