Knowing him he will. But the civil servants were the stupid ones here for allowing the Argentinians to even think it is an acceptable subject to bring up.

Will he hand it over?? yep, in a heartbeat if he thought it would enable him to be seen as a "great" world leader, like his old boss the grinning jug eared ape and jaws his missus!! Personally i think if he does, we should be allowed to kick seven bales out of him!

Are we not, as a "force to be reckoned with" not more than a little overstretched at the moment?

We would in fact be reducing the size of our nuclear stockpile - so shouldn't be a problembiggrin

At least this is one time were the Labour fkwits can actually blame it on Maggie.... And no doubt they will.
How exactly are they going to do that? It's not as though she colonised them in the first place, is it? All she did was go down there and take them back again.

We wouldn't have a chance in hell of mounting a task force like we had in 1982. And even back then it was a bit dodgy with an Aircraft Carrier nicked from under the noses of the decommissioning crew and some long-range bombers that were earmarked for the junk heap (I do miss the Vulcan)

Why would he want to?

One can understand the Argentineans wanting to bring it up. They believe they have a rightful claim. They must also know it won't happen while the Islanders want to remain under UK sovereignty.

All the bks about "we couldn't defend them" aside (which is bks anyway) can you just imagine the public reaction to this - I think that this really would tip over into a riots situation.

The only people I've come across who actually feel we should give the Falklands away tend to be middle-class slightly lefties (the sort of people who cry "racist" on internet forums for the slightest thing) in my experience. They count for nothing in my eyes, and are considerably less in number than their incessant apologist bleatings would suggest.

And the aircraft?

And how, exacly, do we project force without carrier based aircraft? And where do we get land based forces from?
