Kinnock...? Bah, King Gob....

When MPs' expenses blows over, let's have a look at MEPs and EU commissioners...

I'll risk a little bet they're ten times worse than UK MPs....
Hell aye. Especially the Italians.

Stephen Kinnock MP is on TV an awful lot these days - it's pretty obvious he is working at increasing his profile. It would not surprise me if he ran for Labour leadership in 2020 if/when Labour lose the election.

Rachel Kinnock, the sister, also works for the Labour party and was part of Miliband's inner circle during the election campaign.

Bet she keeps that on her CV.

Scroungers, the whole tribe. Son got a safe seat where they would vote for the post box as it is the right colour.

Is anyone really surprised by this.......hypocrisy has always been rife amongst Labour MPs.

Labour MPs were far and away the worst offenders in the MPs expenses scandal (as measured by MPs who paid or were ordered to pay monies back).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_expenses_cla...

And then let's not forget his Toninesses expenses which mysteriously got shredded before they could be made public.

Well, until the Tories sold the postbox.

£250 attendance allowance on top of your salary, house, pension and travel! Who approved all this? And how do I become one?

That's why I get annoyed when people bang on about how little MPs get paid.

An MPs base salary is simply not comparable to an equivalent salary in the private sector because of all these extras and perks (not to mention favours and gifts off interested parties).

Wasn't Mr Kinnock firmly against the EU until he found his way on-board the EU mother of all gravy trains?

Yes he is a hypocrite, all Socialists are hypocrites, but we can hardly blame the Kinnocks for claiming and receiving the expenses and salary that the EU hands out. This is an example of how the EU is a self perpetuating gravy train, and one of the many reasons that I and a lot of others want the UK to leave the EU.

There's only so many threads that can be started per month so it's best to use an old on.

Is my memory going or didn't Kinnock oppose the right to buy scheme and then tried to use it to buy a flat cheap?

Or was it him that did something to try and get a grace flat from the unions for life?

Are we talking MP here?

Approved by Parliament of course, now delegated to IPSA.

To become one:

- In Scotland, grease your way into the SNP Party inner circle.
- In the North, grease your way into the Labour Party inner circle, aided by Union support or family connections
- In the South, grease your way into the Conservative Party inner circle, aided by donations from huge personal wealth, or family connections
- Wales / NI - you get the picture

There are what, less than 50 seats that are genuinely marginal? Then it's just a case of shaking enough hands, not getting caught doing anything too stupid, and not being a Lib Dem or UKIP.

All standard stuff.

Don't know about MEPs, but can't imagine it's that much different: just assume all the best ones have ended up in our Parliament, and the EU gets what's left...

I believe it's a GWiz. It suits him to a tee. Useless piece of carp purporting to do good but doing the opposite in its awfulness and sucking money away from where it's needed through subsidy.
