Yes. We learned that from the Russians. smile
I am glad you learned some thing tongue out

I do not think the US Government will want to put him in prison. They will use him to help with defence systems. Why would they waste some one who is valuable to them. They might not be fair but they are not stupid.
He's not valuable. He's going to prison.

Bugger. Thought I'd worded that so it wasn't...... smile

Anyways if he was clever enough to write a program to hack in, then he should be accountable. Hell its enough for me to update Firefox...... No not the plane Eastwood nicked either...

Alternatively if the US defence systen is that easy to hack then they deserve all they get and no amount of crying about it will alter the fact.

If they spent as much energy on saking their systems secure as the did on moral outrage, they might get on a bit better?

Correct,he's not that valuable if he only broke into systems with no password etc set.

True, realistically they should feel themselves lucky the guy wasn't a terrorist. Sometimes people hack these things because they (governments) believe their systems to be impenetrable, to see how far they get.

Clearly you and many others do not understand how he accessed the machines. He simply identified machines with a blank or default password and then logged in.

As I've said before, to say he hacked into the machines grossly overstates his abilities. Hence he is likely of no use to the intelligence services here or abroad.

He accessed systems that had no password protection etc..not exactly the hardest thing to do...there's also the possibilty,in my mind at least, that these systems were left unprotected to catch people such as this guy...if you want a burglar why would you employ someone who can only get in through open doors?

I don't foresee China agreeing to hand over any "Hackers" any time soon wink

In fact they would probably reward the guy.
