And how am I a 'fundy' for wanting something which preaches against Gays, Equality for Women, Abortion etc etc etc banned?

Shall I list other things that were OK at one time but then banned at a later time? Jeez rolleyes

As Christopher Hitchens once said "Religion poisons everything".
At some point you'll get that banning things doesn't work. If anything, it'll turn moderates into extremists, and work as an excellent propaganda tool.

At some point you'll get that it's the "moderates" either siring extremists or converting to extremism themselves that's the CURRENT GROWING PROBLEM not some future problem.

I'll quote Sam Harris here.

“Religious moderation is the product of secular knowledge and scriptural ignorance.”

Siring extremists? rofl I'll mention that to the CoE guy at the local primary when I see him. Chances of him 'converting to extremism' are the same as you posting sensible post.

Yeah, because everyone knows that religious extremists are born from the conjoining of 2 atheists. laugh

That's about as likely as you understanding a post.

Oh, and say hello to your CoE buddy for me at your next weekly meet up, I'm sure they are riveting affairs.

Another woman exercising her freedoms....
Sorry I'm confused. Is he allowed to force her to dress the way he feels best fits in with his culture or does she have the right to choose?

Your posts are not difficult to understand at all, they are rather simple. You've watched couple of videos by CH and SM and are desperately trying to emulate them without required intellect.

You still can't get the simple fact that banning religion will not achieve anything positive. Then again, it's quite common for simpletons like yourself to suggest simple solutions to complex issues without understanding the unintended consequences.

Why would I say hello from you to a person that doesn't know you? Are you ok?

I have tried to find evidence of the "77% of French Woman wear the Hijab to avoid Islamic Violence," and whilst I can find lots of references to the study, no proof of the study itself - it may well be made up, although Religious and male generated pressure in Muslims communities would suggest that the numbers are believable. (although not speaking / reading French would make it difficult for me to understand even if I had found it)

and yes it is a right wing website written by an anti Islam jewish writer, although that doesn't mean it isn't true.

Don't worry I am just as confused.

I would understand it to be that in their culture she does not have the right to choose - that choice is made for her by her families / communities religious beliefs, and woe betide any woman that goes against them. But under UK law she does.

I can see how little husband / wife misunderstandings can occur.

Who? Last time I looked the initials for Sam Harris were SH. As I said, I tailor my posts for the challenged audience hehe

I've read and meet some these people - I wouldn't expect somebody with your clearly foreshortened education to be able to grasp most of what they say though.

laugh That's because you offer nothing as a reply - just some guff that purports to be self-evident, it isn't.

Sadly I fully understand the unintended consequences of your no-thought, wishy-washy, airey-fairy, 'can't we all just rub along together' attitude. We all have to live them every time we turn on the news.

I'm fine, your the one who said he'd mention something that someone on the internet said to his priest buddy. Why would you do that? biggrin I can only think that friends must be hard to come by for you so you require conversation openings even when you bump into someone who's obliged to talk to fools.
