I just clicked back to the first post on the thread and it's almost the same picture smile Interesting to see how it compares to the artist's impression...

I took it on Saturday on the Wobbly Bridge. Anyhooo, I'm pleased you're here as I'm about to post my homage.

One year in the making.

After much support and encouragement by other posters on this thread - especially im. I set out last April to record the Shard from a unique perspective. That of a suburban road in North London. One that I drive down every few weeks.

I wanted to capture, in a very human way what it meant to be alive, right now, in this fair city, interacting with a structure of such sublime beauty.

So, here it is. My opus. The fruit of twelve month's labour. It took a lot out of me. Both physically and mentally. But, I felt that I had to leave a testimony for the ages. So that generations to come will be able to comprehend just what this majestic building has given the nation.

I used a Hasselblad H4D 200MS (£30,000 from ASDA).

Ladies and gentleman, I give you.....

THE SHARD. A PERSONAL ODYSSEY TOWARDS HOPE & UNDERSTANDING.

My work here is done.

That was well worth the wait Blib clap and, I feel, summarizes and encpsulates your talents for all to see.

I salute you and your etch a sketch camera...surely a compendium of photos of a single subject the like of which you'll surely not find published anywhere else on the web.

Ever.

I am moved by Blibs photography at a visceral, physical level that quite astounds me.

A seminal work.

Would you like to buy some prints? 1000 quids each (plus VAT where applicable).

Went up between 5 and 6pm last night, had sunshine, rain, lightning, snow and sunshine in a single hour. The slightly open top deck was a little scary in the thunderstorm, but the staff didn't seem bothered, so getting wet aside I stayed out...

That video makes it look like that the Shard is some weird sci fi weapon firing up into the sky. Brilliant!
