Anyone know what's happening on the site of the Pinnacle Tower (aka helter skelter)? There has been no building work for what seems like years. Just 6 floors of core and a load of cranes.

I think the developers went bust or something, is anything likely to happen this year?

Some Sheik bloke spent all his money on Demolition and building a 9 storey core to the (3 storey basement)Barclays pulled the plug on investment as he didnt manage to sell 30% of his property portfolio before they invested.

He is currently looking for £3bn from overseas investors.

Just won the contract to do works on Levels 31 & 32 of the walkie talkie building. Very impressive it is, and excellent views of the shard (and most of London).

So on our annual jaunt to the big city, what happens! Pisses it down.

Thank god for loads of pubs around Borough Market.

Towers of London.

Taking with a Samsung S3 fully zoomed in from a multi-storey just north of Westfield Shopping Centre, Stratford, East London.

And to that, in a few years, to fit the whole skyline in, you'll have to pad quite a bit to the left.

So many towers planned for London south of the river - interesting times.

Any have any thoughts on the Grauniad's "two entrances" story for residential towers? I haven't noticed that myself, but maybe that was the whole point...

Stayed at the Shangri La with the Mrs last weekend on Saturday night with a city view room on the 36th floor. We also had dinner which was a great experience I have to say.

This is a true "student surpasses tutor" moment. I feel honoured to witness it.
