I watched a re-run of an ancient Jamie Oliver show on Food Network, followed by some weird Scottish bird now living in Morocco, travelling to Timbuktu. The latter was so dire, I almost thought about switching to the 'debate' on ITV, but thought better of it & looked up some motorcycle clothing on the internet instead....... sleep

The hate on there is absolutely unreal. Oddly enough, the same people aren't flooding the Labour page criticising them for not showing up.
It's the Labour sponsored rent-a-mob. They just go around heckling the Tories for fun either on the streets or via social media.

I took the opportunity to catch up some lost sleep last night on the basis I wouldn't be missing much.

...but why was Nicola Sturgeon taking part in a debate for an election which she is not standing in, in a country she would rather not be part of?

Surely to not take part would be more in line with SNP policy?. I guess the opportunity to appear on TV and shout "London based Torrreeee government" was too good to miss....

Perhaps their leader in Parliament, Angus Robertson, would have been a more suitable choice for a UK wide debate, he'll need to take these opportunities as and when he can before he (hopefully) loses his seat in three weeks time, hehe

I watched it for a bit. All were useless but it was Tim Nice-But-Dim that had me reaching for the remote. The way he kept talking about his dear old mum, his uncle, what if your mum... etc etc. I switched off between 9 and 9.45, switched back and he was on about his mum again after 3 minutes!

Nuttall was disappointing. I had high hopes for him and UKIP a while back but to turn every issue into a debate on immigration is tiresome and causes Brexit supporters to switch off.

Any competent politician given a few minutes to speak should have been able to wipe the floor with them. A few examples:

Q. Why do you want to stop immigration? What about the NHS that is staffed by EU immigrants?
A. Mumble mumble get the numbers down mumble
What the answer should have been: We are talking about controlling immigration, not stopping it. Which means, if we need migrant doctors and nurses our immigration policy will let them in easily whilst potentially limiting unskilled labour if it is not required.

Q. Where is the £350m for the NHS?
A. Mumble mumble
What the answer should have been: That figure was just an example of what we could do with that money once we leave the EU. It was not stated by a political party so can no appear in a single party manifesto. Once we know the terms of our deal with the EU we will know exactly what money we have saved and can decide the best way to spend that. I would suggest that the NHS and Social Care is where we would put the majority of that money.

Q. May doesn't have a mandate. Corbyn was voted into the leadership position, May got there by default. And she definitely has no mandate for "hard Brexit"
A. Mumble mumble
What the answer should have been: I think May understands this feeling from a large part of the electorate which is why she's called a general election. Will you accept that she has a mandate for the type of Brexit she is going for when she wins the general election next month?

etc etc
