Yes holy thread resurrection and all that.
The case below is an interesting one. A Jaimaican national comes to this country illegally in 2000 and is sentenced to life imprisonment for a murder of a school boy in 2001. The judge at the time ordered his deportation once he had served his sentence. However once released in 2012 he, for the first time, claimed he was gay and the Court of Appeal ruled that he could not be sent back to Jamaica because he could face degrading treatment for being homosexual that would breach his human rights.

Indeed.The minimum term/tariff for life imprisonment in this country for those who commit murder whilst under the age of 18 is 12 years in this country. Take away a few few months whilst they are banged up awaiting trial and you have your 11 1/2 years.
The killer of Philip Lawrence was also out in 12 years.
