Tonight we have a real who's who of nobodies.

Worst line-up they have had in memory. Not one person I am expecting to save my amusement.

Billy Bragg will wear a slogan t-shirt, I suspect and be totally pro bbc (so they will love him and allow him to spout drivel about Comrade Corbyn).

As was the frothy, shouty bloke complaining that the new forth bridge should all be made from Scottish steel until it was pointed out to him that no one bid as they didn't make the right kind of steel in Scotland biglaugh

Kazia out of her depth.

She has "passion" but is lacking the worldliness experience and older age gives.
To come back against the lady in black saying I totally disagree about steel prices and the future etc - then goes a bit mute when lady in black says well what about helping them out so less money for he nhs or police or education or all of us have to pay more. Which industries get cherry picked ?

Which is itself a bare-faced lie.

Tata are on the record as saying Dalzell can supply. “Tata Steel can confirm that it did participate indirectly in the tendering process for the Forth Bridge contracts and that its Dalzell works is capable of supplying a significant proportion of the steel required.”

Saying no Scottish companies tendered is also disingenuous as the contracts were awarded for steel fabrication and it was up to the contractors to source the raw steel, hence Tata's 'indirectly' qualification.

Come on, don't keep me in suspense - assuming there's a point to be made.

sorry I was agreeing with you...

Steel makers do not build bridges, they make steel that can be used by builders to build stuff.

Same way steelmakers don't build cars, but their products are used in car manufacture.

the real question here is what the RFP/RFT documents asked for, as in did they specify where materials should be sourced?

Ah good! It's early and I've not had my morning crack yet.

Indirectly could be 'no, we won't be submitting a proposal'

But more likely they advised someone who is quoting that they could supply the steel.....
