Balanced Question Time panel tonight - of course not!
Discussion
Whenever Jacob Rees-Mogg appears on TV, I find myself desperately wishing that we didn't have the problems with class issues, that ability could triumph over how much money your family have, that everyone was given a fair chance regardless of their education or accent. In that ideal world, Rees-Mogg would stand a hope of being PM - and he'd be superb. Total class - in a good way.

I am a proper chip on my shoulder faux-working-class northerner and I agree.Same applies at both ends of the spectrum.

I usually turn QT off within 5 minutes to keep my blood pressure in check, but I stuck it out this time as I always like what Rees-Mogg has to say. I find it so refreshing to see an eloquent, principled politician who speaks plain, common sense and doesn't just spout the party line with a few meaningless sound bites added in. Was expecting him to get shouted down by the usual left-leaning audience (especially with QT being in Slough) but in fact his comments seemed to resonate with a large part of the audience and even the other members of the panel. Unlike most career politicians, his comments are always well thought through, logical and presented in a non-confrontational way that makes it hard to dislike him, even if you may not agree with his point of view. Definitely PM material in my book.Cat smith is the newly appointed Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities. Expect a lot of feminism....
...mind you the MP's kate Green and Kate Osamor are ALSO Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities...
I hope Cat knows what Kate and Kate thinks. Hate for the three of them to be off-message when it comes to labour policy. Can yoh imagine a labour party giving us different messages...

How many female MP's does Corbyn think it takes to perform one ministerial role.... only 27 years after we had a female PM! ...mind you the MP's kate Green and Kate Osamor are ALSO Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities...

Studied sociology and gender studies, and nominated and voted for Comrade Corbyn! The lefty b*ll*cks will be strong in this one!
There seem to be several MPs recently - several newly elected, and from all parties - who are on the Daily Politics, QT, R4 and 5 news etc. all too regularly. As if they are pushing themselves into the limelight (career building?) and she is currently one who stands out, along with that really 'rough' Birmingham accented one who said she'd stab Corbyn in the front a couple of weeks ago. It makes me wonder if they keep being asked back or are pushing to be on/noticed. Thankfully, at least Kinnock Jr.'s omnipresence seems to have dimmed a little.EDIT - Just seen the ad for This Week and the rough one iI referred to is Jess Philips, and is on, again! Publicity hound.
