And we won't be able to go away on holiday. Oh no...
It's quite special isn't it? Presumably the US, Chinese, Japanese and all other non-EU tourists in the UK are imaginary, because the challenge of organising some Sterling and a visa if necessary is truly beyond mortal man. A decision as momentous as leaving or remaining in the EU and this is the calibre of reasoning presented.

Visas cost UK £1.5bn per year in lost revenue from Chinese tourists...

That's chicken feed compared to what the EU costs us in 'lost revenue' disappearing into EU coffers to pay for first class travel on top of inflated eurocrat salaries and generous pensions. Just look at the Kinnocks, if you can bear to.

Then there are the other non-sterling costs. Chris Grayling was spot on, the EU is disastrouns for Britain.

I usually turn QT off within 5 minutes to keep my blood pressure in check, but I stuck it out this time as I always like what Rees-Mogg has to say. I find it so refreshing to see an eloquent, principled politician who speaks plain, common sense and doesn't just spout the party line with a few meaningless sound bites added in. Was expecting him to get shouted down by the usual left-leaning audience (especially with QT being in Slough) but in fact his comments seemed to resonate with a large part of the audience and even the other members of the panel. Unlike most career politicians, his comments are always well thought through, logical and presented in a non-confrontational way that makes it hard to dislike him, even if you may not agree with his point of view. Definitely PM material in my book.
I agree and like/respect Rees-Mogg vet much but unelectable as PM IMO as he's just too posh sounding.

Just high the bar is raised when it comes to the IN / OUT debate proper.

Worrying about lost tourism or not being able to go abroad makes me wonder if their should be some kind of basic examination of the issues and the person,s vote be wieghted according to their understanding of the issues they are voting on.

You have to wonder how someone that thick manages to (presumably) hold down a decent enough job to allow him to live in London?

A young extremely ill informed member of the audience inferred that if we left the EU it would kill our tourism industry dead as no one would ever be able to visit the UK again.

Ditzy woman #1 said "EU .. free movement of goods .. can't trade without it"

Ditzy man #2 said "what about the loss in tourism?"

Blood boiling watching this. Scary that these mouth-breathing clueless ones have the same vote as a normal, rational person. Democracy has its flaws.

My immediate thought was 'council employed'. Now that doesn't mean all CE are thick as the proverbial but, have had dealings with some that would make that chap look intelligent.
