I think one aspect the prosecution will bring up is that this 'hijacking' mode of operation was unlike 99% of other car jackings + robberies ... usual mode was not followed. IIRC asking the guy to leave the vehicle is unheard of ... it would normally be 1/ shoot husband 2/ then wife if aim is to kill both ... and if just a robbery why kill one person and leave a witness ?

doesn't make any sense, as does going for a late night meal/drink in a 'township' on your honeymoon while staying at a 5 star hotel - also totally unbelievable.

.. would you take your wife to the roughest, nastiest drug-dealing pub imaginable in moss side Manchester for a bit of late night 'culture' while having your honeymoon at a 5 star hotel in Wilmslow or Alderley Edge ?

This or something along these lines that his very private life which would destroy his high standing in the Muslim community and his parents etc would be totally destroyed - maybe it could have ruined his business too.

Not Muslim

Seems like she may not have been raped, even if some reports would suggest she was sexually assaulted, but when found in the taxi she was badly bruised and had one single shot wound in her neck.

What I find very strange, he was released more or less unharmed (or thrown out as he said), only way I had left my wife with them in the taxi was with several gunshot holes in me.

fk me.
Everyone is an expert on rapist, murderers and muggers on this thread. "Oh no. Murderers always rape. Fact"

If you're a drugged up robber the last thing you'll want is to shag some bird.

The only person who really knows what happened is Dewani.

Exactly- was just talking about this point with Mrs B and i commented. They don't leave witnesses alive in SA.

He doesn't know what happened after he left the taxi though.

Either it was a robbery and rape gone wrong, the plan was to rob them, get rid of the husband and rape the wife, but she put up a real fight and was bruised badly and ended getting shot before the rape was committed, or then it was a hit ordered by the husband.

The former would seem a little odd, from what I understand the way it goes in SA is, kill husband, rape wife and kill her too, leave no witnesses.

Wasn't there something mentioned ages ago like they didn't take his watch or wallet, which is kinda unusual for a robbery.

...or a druggie would see the value & sell / trade the girl.

As you say, the accused knows the truth.

Is not just unusual. It's spectacular.

Well it has been said umpteen times before - this would be the only method of payment in SA (where life is measured in £00s). And you would hand over the final payment somewhere (like a hotel) where they won't put a bullet in your head straight away.

I've spent some time in South Africa .. from what I heard of actual robberies - some direct from victims ... you are usually relieved of *everything* except maybe your underpants.

wallet, trousers, phone, watch, glasses, shirt, socks and shoes eek

( I met a cyclist ( who was cataclismically naive and stupid ) - who lost most of the above plus his passport and cycle in the centre of Jo'burg ))

Yeah - Dewani was *thrown* out the window of an MPV ?!! - totally improbabable, and he suffered no injuries .... if that's true .. my dick's a kipper.

Exactly you would do everything possible to stop then taking her away. Makes you wonder if he would stand idle as his children were taken away.

If he is guilty he may find all his sexual fantasies come true every single day in a SA jail.

Asian bloke, gay, allegedly involved with his wife's murder

Will there be a "BV? "MM" to defend his position, like they do of that nice professional couple wink

Or is there no doubt in one case?

Why kill her on the honeymoon though? Granted its a good opportunity to cover it up (until the media got involved). But it is highly risky.

If it has been done 2 months later I imagine no one would have batted an eyelid (assuming no obvious evidence of a murder).

He was busted logging into gay porn site, his wife was about to tell her dad, things got out of hand?
