My only question here is why did they let the bloke go (a fellow who can ID them) then kill the wife?
I doubt they were criminal masterminds! Not aimed at you J&J, but I really can't believe that some posters on here suspect a conspiracy involving the husband. Absolute tw*ts.

"previously peaceful" Yeah. That's one perspective. Slightly different to the Saffers I know that left in fear of their life prior to when people "caused havoc"
You miss the word "relatively"? Compared to what is currently going on, it was peaceful. Not a utopia but better than the sthole it has since become. But for a stload of people there, including some friends, it is just a different form of st.
But, at least they aren't getting arrested now for being uppity coloureds for wanting to actually work and get an equal education and voting and things like that.
But hey ho, just one of those things. Apparently it was an amazing country so who am I to argue.

Neither is right but I'd rather not take my chances with the latter.
However, apparently it's not only white governments which make mistakes. The speaker in this video makes some rather disturbing statements. How many of them are true? You decide. (Warning - sensitive viewers may be offended)

I hope I'm proved wrong, but I'm sure we're not being told everything. Everything just doesn't add up.
Maybe it's the driver, maybe it's the husband...
They were apparently having dinner in Somerset West, and to get back in to Cape Town proper just requires driving down the N2 motorway in to the centre of town. There is no need to deviate, and if you do there are plenty of routes on other fast roads that don't require stopping.
If they were heading in to a township to see the nightlife at 11pm, then that is utterly stupid.
Husband has now given an interview to the Daily Mail.Maybe it's the driver, maybe it's the husband...

WTF - giving an interview is not the action I'd be taking if my wife had just been shot after (presumably) being gang raped by half of a township (she was a very pretty girl).
Interview said:
‘Anni grew up in Sweden, and she felt as if the area around this hotel was just like at home: so clean and safe, and maybe a bit sterile. She had never been to Africa before, so she suggested that we should have a look at the “real Africa”.
So they were told where to go and not to go, but decided to ignore that and see "the real Africa". Maybe the wife was insistent on seeing the lovely townships where Naomi Cambell's grandad started his struggle for freedom. Silly silly girl.
I'm calling this one as not done by long way., one way or another.
It's certainly a tragedy, and on his account caused by being stuipd, starry eyed and naive, but this interview just doesn't smell right to me. A bit too perfect, as were the immaculately dressed "friends of the family" who lined up on the news last night outside their mansion.
Perhaps years as a lawyer have made me too cynical.

At the moment the circumstances are unclear, I dont believe anyone can draw conclusions of any kind from the interview, and as for the others satorial predilictions, maybe they thought that as they were going to be on TV it might be appropriate to smarten up to show respect to their friends and family FFS!!
Cheers
Just seems an odd thing to give an interview to the Mail the day after, that's all.
I'm not drawing any conclusions.

IIRC, it certainly was far from a sthole then; what changed?.....oh, yea.
People like you lost power that's what happened.Unfortunately this has resulted in South Africa's rapid descent to third world sthole status, in line with the rest of the continent.
