That's not correct. I have been and remain in touch with several politicians in the House of Commons, the House of Lords and the EU Parliament. Many are listening, and more intently than ever.
So who exactly are you then?
He's turbobloke, you 'tard...
No, who is he, not what is his anonymous PH username, you 'tard

From what he says he has the ear of politicians so I'd like to know who I am talking too. No names just his background and current position.

I'm quite happy to tell you who I am.

I am a chemical engineer working for a Petrochemical business based in the UK. I have a degree in Chemistry and a degree in Chemical engineering. I have no political connections.
But why do you need to know? TB I would imagine would like to remain anonymous, for obvious reasons, the main one is that he is standing up against this rubbish that is MMGW, and as such is a target for people that have differing views .

You should be annoyed at being conned about the role CO2 then surely?

Or at least understand it. You remind me of my brother Devil, he's the only True Believer I know in the real world. He's a senior hydrodynamicist, and the firm he works for are currently being funded by public money to develop carbon capture and storage technology. I can't think of a bigger waste of tax payers money, I really can't. Are you tangled up in any such subsidy funded research may I ask?

No. I don't do any research. I work on a petrochemical plant.
I work for a multinational company that has it's head office in another country. We produce comodity chemicals.

Good point. I almost exposed myself again there. At least this latest request was fairly polite, unlike previous occasions, so let's see if we can avoid a repeat. I post in the science thread so anybody popping over there can make their own minds up whether I have an O-level in Botany or a bit more...or less. There's no political Party membership here at TB Towers.

Not need, want to know.

Why? I haven't read the whole thread by any stretch. It would take hours and I don't have the time. However it would appear that most of the information is comming from Turbobloke. Ok other people are linking some political blogs etc connected to opposition to MMGW but the last time I looked Turbobloke was in essence the main driving force behind information.
Given this fact I'd like to know who i'm talking too. Is he just some bloke who like spouting off, is he a well respected scientist or his he connected to a political party/lobby group. It matters.

Well, I don't think TB receives any kind of tax payer subsided grant for a start. AFAIAC, that makes him at the very least more impartial than those who do - he has no wares to peddle....

No idea, but he has a red MR2, which is a good sign he isn't one of Them.

This is true. When I was even more active in minding my own businesses, there was no profit or personal gain from the climate scams. These days the business activities are winding down and I'm mixing in some employment of various types while hoping to be spared long enough for a retired lifestyle on a very hot beach somewhere, global cooling permitting. After more than twenty years perusing the climate science literature I'm always willing to share information with those interested to receive it. No fee to you squire etc.

You should be annoyed at being conned about the role CO2 then surely?
This is an interesting point.

The answer is simple. How do I know i've been conned?

I don't. Unless I get up to speed on the science behind the issues being discussed and then review all the data, the raw data that is, then how can I possibly come to any meaningful conclusion?

A specific area of science isn't something that even someone with a scientific background like myself can dip into and quickly come up with meaningful views, unless you happen to have expertise in that specific area already.

The notion that anyone on here can come up with the answers after reading a dozen or so links is misguided, especially as many of those links are from political bloggers (Who talk ste for 99% of the time, Monbiot and Delingpole alike) or from a single source, Turbobloke.

Which gets back to why I want to know who he is. You should too. This man is feeding you information, would you not want to know who he is?

How do you know that he is not just spinning you a line?

Any information I use needs to come from a source I can verfiy and that I can trust to be genuine. I've mentioned peer review in the past on PH and been derided, but it is the only way you can determine if an article has merit. Anyone can write any old crap and post it online and unless you're an expert you will not be able to critically evaluate it. Hell, people can make up data and unless it can be independantly verified you don't even know if you can trust it.

The only thing you need to know is whether or not he knows what he is talking about.

The answer is, as I am sure your degree can attest, Yes.

Now, unless and until someone can post accurate data which refutes what he posts..............

Have a read of this: Climategate emails
This gives you an insight into the UAE CAGW scientists' modus operandi.
Also shows how in climate "science" the peer review process is no indication of merit.
As to worrying about getting up to speed in a different scientific field - climate science is post-normal science and therefore if you know Pascal's Wager you are pretty much up to speed hehe

What line could that be? He hasn't made any claims (to my knowledge) It is the warmists that make the claims yet fail to provide any meaningful data. He just hi-lights that fact.
