Since this thread is about AGW politics, it's interesting to note the KP represents an aspect of it that my blog specialises in; infowar. Guam mentioned someone feeding KP intelligent sounding arguments and he's right on the money. KP looks to me to be the mouthpiece of a stack of silly green Dr. Evil MiniMe's, operating out of some rent-controlled bedsit in Tower Hamlets, or some other urban hell hole.

They're going to take over the world but first they've got to banish us pesky deniers with their razor wit and Mannian arguments. Unfortunately, they're all well into stage two, and because they're angry, making increasingly less sense, which is why Joe Public ignores their doomsday prophecies nowadays. Re the "great white" reference, it's nice to know troll central reads my blog so slavishly, especially when it's such an old one.

They're yesterday's people, who've wasted years of their lives on a political movement which is now in it's death throes.

Actually I'm in a 3-bed semi in a leafy suburb in the midlands and I haven't bothered reading your overlong blog postings since the hysterical 'the Norfolk police are in on it - I'm RIGHT I tell you!' thing - you might know your stuff about IT but when you venture into psychology and what motivates people you're blind as a bat.

Well, it is the UK end of the Huffington Post but this report is interesting.

Owen Paterson as a believer backing disturbine "farms", apparently.

Worth doing some research I reckon.

Because to be able to allow an alternative view makes us far better than those who espouse the AGW lie and who want to stifle debate and opinion - a process which arises because they know they are wrong.

I know we are right to say it is a lie, a fabrication, a method of making some people very rich and taxing the rest of us. So I am happy to have a debate about it.

More ad homs.

It always has to be about you, doesn't it? Ever wondered why that is? No?

Back in the day when you could have a good debate at the Telegraph, before they introduced DISQUS, we used to have a troll cage. When someone persistently engaged in nothing better than ad homs, we dropped them in it and apart from the occasional zap with a cattle prod, ignored them completely.

I think I'll pop you in the troll cage. Now, where's the charger for that K-Tel super duper cattle prod of mine ...

It's called fair comment matey - you want to try it instead of just making stuff up from your febrile imagination.

Should we also debate the Earth being flat or the moon made of cream cheese?

Anyone who supported such a ridiculous view would not be entertained in such a way.

They would if there was a lot of money and power involved yes
this whole thing is the biggest con ever what it has cost and why will be argued about for years, the people who drive it are very clever and seem to have plenty of foot soldiers like our own Kerplunk to spread misinfomation and junk science designed to cause fear and worry in the population and hence further there destructive agenda....

Those notions are proven to be untrue, no one is taxing me because of them and they are not the subject of current debate

I doubt the moon is made of cream cheese - too runny.

Of course we could debate it. Evidence can be shown etc.

Telling someone what they can or can not say or think is contrary to my personal belief.

I hear the troll in the cage trying to wheedle their way back into polite society. Best ignored, I think. Settle down troll. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67xcbww9bfo

Mine too.
But there is a fine line between having an opposing view which can be supported by real evidence and being deliberately obtuse and trolling.

I think that KP crossed the line a long, long time ago.

Meanwhile, back in the real world and away from the stench of greenie fanboys in the troll cage, Michael Mann is back in the running to be Climate Prat of the Year, courtesy of the blinder prat option of awarding himself a Nobel Prize.

He's in second place, so if you haven't voted yet, help him out. http://thepointman.wordpress.com/

We can surely expect the EU climate bigwigs to insist that the aircon remains switched off at their climate beanfeast in Doha next month, even if they've worked up a sweat with all the cycling and paddling needed to get there.

No you are trolling and debating from a position of ignorance of the subject matter.

No third hand advice from anyone will give you a complete understanding of the statistical issues involved, the best one can hope for is for someone who is skilled and trained in the subject matter, to break it down in lay parlance.
You have <as so often> created an attrition loop by failing to acknowledge and represent correctly, the content of what you have been told.
The only hand waving on here is from you with two words tattoed on the back of your hands.
Pig..and Ignorant.
How could anyone represent what you say correctly - you jump around like a mad frog. Not even sure what your argument/claim is now tbh, you lost me in the midst of all that lofty hand-waving. However I am satisfied the Clive Best post doesn't support 'the data shows flatline' which was your initial claim so it hasn't been a dead loss.

I suppose in real terms whether the banhammer is shown around here IS climate politics.

I vote NO hammer.

A view to allow us balance should be available, I do wonder if we'll ever get a credible one…
