More on mann with some scathing comments smile

This bloke is an utter joke now smile
Excellent stuff!

I especially like this post below the article:

Here is Nobel’s response to the query:
1) Michael Mann has never been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
2) He did not receive any personal certificate. He has taken the diploma awarded in 2007 to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (and to Al Gore) and made his own text underneath this authentic-looking diploma.
3) The text underneath the diploma is entirely his own. We issued only the diploma to the IPCC as such. No individuals on the IPCC side received anything in 2007.
“Unfortunately we often experience that members of organizations that have indeed been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize issue various forms of personal diplomas to indicate that they personally have received the Nobel Peace Prize. They have not.”
How up his own arse is Mann to do such a thing!
I'd say the wording is poor on his legal submission and that's a valid complaint (doubt it's perjury though!). However the certificate thing is a just fluff - the IPCC issued the certificates with the text on them to IPCC participants.

Interesting. If the experts are so sure I would have thought they would be proud to stand up and be counted.

Darn. As a member of the European Union I was hoping to get something like that. Looks like nobody will fall for it now.

It may be more serious than that - makes him out to be a liar (if he did actually portray himself as a Nobel prize winner).

That's not good.

It may count against him!

And odd that they made no complaints when people such as Tim Yeo have similar positions... Seems only those who share their views can have a say.. I guess they know they are lying then eh!?

An insurance expert? Does that not fall into the category of turkeys voting to indefinitely postpone christmas? What a load of flimflam; we're right, the science is settled, but we'd better stay incognito lest we get thanked by grateful citizens for saving them from almost certain climageddon? This couldn't stink any more even if you dunked it in a barrel of ripe herring.

On a related note; did anyone watch this rubbish? I did(well, 5 minutes before switching channel in disgust) and I've had funnier ambulance rides. Who commissions this ste?

hmmm may be, but I doubt it.

By the way in case anybody is unaware, John O'Sullivan isn't exactly an uninvolved party in this stuff. He's on (or was) Tim Ball's team in the Mann v Ball libel case. Also, some might remember the 'Sky Dragon Slayer' threads on Judith Curry's blog? - well they aren't there now cos John O'Sullivan issued a libel challenge earlier this year due to allegations made in the comments and JC was forced to remove them. All good material for the popcorn munchers!

Out of interest KP do you follow "rabbet's" blog (it might explain much) or is it just a convient one to link to for the example cited?

Serious question.

yes it's one of many I read, but on this occassion I did a search for 'askolnick' (one of the protagonists on the aforementioned dragon slayer threads)

I'm curious what it supposedly explains?

Interesting story mentioned in the comments section; the Environment Agency pisses away £0.5m in FOI farce; and it seems they are serial offenders, both for FOI sandbagging and perversely obstructing green energy schemes!?!

The Germans won't build them, and the Japs won't build them in their own back yard. After what seemed to be an outbreak of common sense, seems like things are not going quite going according to plan with the recent Hitachi deal.

After being a leader in the world in nuclear power etc. etc. you would think we could just get on and do it better ourselves.

Guess we'll just need (get somebody else) to build more windmills.

At least the greenies will be happy (if cold..)

I think I may have just half overheard a few minutes of the commentary on that as I emptied the dishwasher. Sounded remorselessly poor.
