They started off as a perfectly legitimate pro-democracy opposition, until Assad's lot started shooting the poor fkers for daring to protest against his regime, that is.
Just like the Saudi and Bahraini democracy protesters, except they were not in receipt of US democracy "Aid", you know, pro democratic TOW missiles, freedom mortars etc.

I expect that Sky news will file that in the section with the reports on the attacks on hospitals and schools in Yeman.

Far too busy playing reports every 20 min about the poor people of Allepo, no mention though of these being the areas where rebels are holding out still. Rebels we are arming to prolong the conflict and the real reason people are talking about a no fly zone.

Tut, Tut, tut. You should know that it is all Russian, Syrian or Iranian propaganda, to prevent peaceful, Islamic fundamentalist inclined freedom fighters from beheading, burning, raping and committing genocide. They have rights too!

The secular Syrian "regime" should be forced to capitulate to our moderate Islamic fundamentalist allies, Al Nusra, Al Qaeda and Co. They are just the kind of allies you need, Libya shows how successful it can be.

Team 'merica and Co. Coming to save the mother'ucking world.

Double order of explosive democracy and freedom, with a side of death, destruction, destabilisation and exploitation.

Hi scherzkeks, that's the first time I have come across that website. I read 3 or 4 pages of the comments from that article and there appears to be quite a few opinions that flow in the opposite direction of the Western MSM and certainly make you question the official line.
Do you have any thoughts/background on this website or it's content in general?

Many thanks for the interesting link wink

In general, you should know that any line which is not the state approved line is always crazy, paranoid or just plain wrong...

The BBC is going full retard on Syria.

The hypocrisy of lambasting Russia, in the UN, for using " bunker busting" bombs in Aleppo, while supporting the USA in Falujah, when they declared the city a free firezone, is an education in political expediency.

I wonder if this is the beginning of a planned escalation, possibly to get a reaction before the US presidential elections, to ensure the new president is tied into a strategy, bay of pigs and JFK comes to mind.

Directly attacking the Syrian government forces? USAF is now the IS airforce. Not really surprising.

So, you read several pages, how many of those pages could be summed up as Wooooo isn't putin great or as see, this bad thing, here's proof the "west" did it.

Then ask yourself if a site where everything russian is roses and everything "West" is underhanded barbarism could possiable be balanced and with no agenda.

Like the BBC, sky, Fox, msnbc for example? Everything Russian or Syrian government, sorry, "regime" is bad?

Please explain how it is the Syrian "regime" but the Saudi "government" on the BBC?

Some pages back I suggested that the US had created ISIS as an excuse to attack the SAA having been frustrated in their attempts to get the green light at the UN.

Did anyone watch Panorama last night? Yes it was fairly one sided in it's coverage but putting that to one side, it really brought home the true suffering of ordinary people just trying to get on with their lives.

Heart-breaking really.

Yes, I watched it and it was terrible to see what's happening in places like Aleppo. Based on what was shown, Assad certainly needs to go, but whoever takes his place is likely to be equally as brutal to the general population - just in different ways. Syria really does look like a complete basket case. Very sad...

Juergen Todenhoefer, a journalist for the Koelner Stadt-Anzeiger here in Germany has published an interview with an Al-Nusra (Al-Quaida subgroup) commander. In the video interview, the commander describes the support they receive from the United States.

An English transcript is in the comments for those who don't speak German.

Are you both really, actually, genuinely trying to say that the US and it's coalition would rather have ISIS in power in Syria than Assad....?

I've heard some conspiracy theories........

No they want neither to win, war keeps Iran and Russia busy, weakens Syria, weakens Hezbollah and takes the focus off Israel. Erdogan has his "buffer zone" and a parliamentary majority again, and a purge of any internal opposition thanks to the coupé purge.

Only losers are the Syrian people.

You are aware what happened in Libya? right... Or was that also propaganda and conspiracy theory to? It is now actually a Utopia on earth, a land of freedom milk and democratic honey, so good that people are trying swim across the Mediterranean to get away from the awesomeness of it all.

Take the time to listen to this interview of Scott Ritter and Ray Mc Govern, both ex military, you might remember Ritter, he was the lone voice, before the invasion of Iraq, trying to point out that the WMD did not exist.

Ray Mc Govern, is a retired 30+ year CIA analyst veteran. He started when JFK was president.

Not the type of people prone to Conspiracy theories, actually listen to what they explain. It is more believable than any conspiracy theory could be. The reason for that, they saw it from the inside.
