Five years ago today, Muhammad Bouazizi set himself on fire in Sidibouzid Tunisia, sparking the Arab Spring.
(If any of you forget why he did this as it was all over our TV's at the time please go read).
FYI the former first lady of the Tunisian president Leila Ben Ali took 1.5 tonnes of gold from the central bank when she and her family fled to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The Arab Spring, which sought a better future for the Arab world through peaceful resistance, did not cause the chaos enveloping it today
It was the vicious reaction to the Arab Spring by the regimes which did everything they could to hold onto power that brought us here.
Those who died trying to change their countries for the better will not be forgotten. RIP all those brave revolutionaries.

"Chomsky: The main theme of modern post-war history is the domino effect: Cuba, Brazil, Vietnam… Henry Kissinger compared it to a virus that might spread contagion. When he and Nixon were planning the overthrow of the democratically elected Allende in Chile – we have all the internal materials now – Kissinger in particular said, the Chilean virus might affect countries as far as Europe. Actually, he and Brezhnev agreed on that, they were both afraid of democracy and Kissinger said, we have to wipe out this virus. And they did, they crushed it.
Today it's similar. Both Bush and Obama are terrified of the Arab spring. And there is a very sensible reason for that. They don't want democracies in the Arab world. If Arab public opinion had any influence on policy, the US and Britain had been tossed out of the Middle East. That's why they are terrified of democracies in the region."

UN representatives refuse to visit Moadamiyeh to see evidence of latest regime CW attack
?#?Moadamiyeh?, ?#?Damascus? province, 23-12-2015:
Activists at Moadamiyeh Media Office in Moadamiyeh have confirmed that they
phoned the UN office in Damascus to report the Assad regime's latest chemical weapons attack on the town on Tuesday night, to ask that representatives visit the scene in order to collect evidence.
The activists reported that the UN representatives refused point blank to do so.2
I'm sure quantum or Sherz will be along shortly to twist the above.

I'm sure it's twisted quite enough as it is.
About this specific incident what do you base that statement on?Live footage is all over the media including the news agencies as well as social media on the ground.
Do you remember that the OPCW stated around a year ago that Syria had put out of action all it's CW manufacturing facilities.
I'm afraid your one line answer carries about as much credence as Yogi Bear.
Would you care to elucidate?

All the news about this incident seems to be eminating out of someone's front room. I cannot find one real piece of evidence that is verifiable about this attack.
Most of this appears to hearsay as usual. The more the Russians continue to pound anti government forces, the more these stories will come out.

The more the Russians continue to pound anti government forces, the more these stories will come out. This sounds much like the original "chemical weapon" attack, with those fundamentalist Islamist moderates the likely culprits, not Assad. Let us not forget the Saudi connection either, those well-known moderates.
All Assad's chemical weapons destroyed by the UN but now a chemical weapon attack? Not fishy at all.
I wonder if the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights managed to report this? Around his corner shop Christmas rush or does his unknown sponsors make the corner shop redundant.
It seems a Turkish MP has implicated Turkish "supporters" of supplying and preparing chemical weapons for the "moderate" Islamists, not entirely surprising considering the now widely known relationship with Turkey and oil, weapons and crazies training camps.
A very merry Christmas indeed.

An interesting story here, seems Qatar has been looking to buy Russian aircraft specific bomb from Poland, a little odd since Qatar use Mirage 2000s and these weapons will not fit.
What would Qatar want with Russian dumb bombs ? This could also be a clever piece of Information warfare by the Russians, but considering previous situations with Libyan weapons, the entire chemical weapon farce, Chinese MANPADS etc. there may just be something to this.

The confessions of an Islamist moderate Free Syrian Army , sorry ISIS fighter, trained in Turkey.
I did a double take about German news sources reporting ISIS having an office in Turkey, selling captured slaves, what a lovely bunch of moderates.
It must be the chemical weapons they use that makes them do it.
