The decision was taken personally by the pilot,” he said, adding that “Turkey has no hostile feelings to Russia, and will never have.”

Slippery s.

Putin's not daft. You cant bullsh*t a bullst*tter.
I am also willing to bet good money that the Turkish pilot, who will be "found" to be a member of the attempted Coup plotters, and will be suitably punished.

Can anyone see Turkey cosying up to Russia after this purge?

What, a Muslim country who we've supplied arms to and thought was an ally - swapping sides? Outrageous suggestion.

It wouldn't surprise me if, after the downing of the Russian plane and Putin's subsequent banning of charter flights to Turkey, Erdogan has done a deal with Russia to move away from EU influence. May even have organised the coup himself, with help or advice from Putin.

Not only that. It was made quite clear during the Brexit campaign that several countries don't 'ever' want Turkey in the EU, and I think Erdogan has sussed out that the EU are tagging him along with these accession talks, and that they are, really, just a means of keeping his armed forces within the confines of NATO. He knows he's being played and he could swop sides in a flash.

Somebody had to remind him of his membership in November last year, when he suddenly pulled out of a $3.4 Billion deal to buy the FD-2000 Chinese Long-Range Air and Missile Defense System, which is a derivative of the much vaunted Russian S-300.

Wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

If you'd read the article then you'd understand what they were trying to do. You should also be mourning these Kurds who are the main ones destroying ISIS currently.

Well that got under your skin didn't it? Anyone using the word "sunshine" to describe someone is clearly not a happy person. I bet you fit my mental image of you to a tee

Anyway back on topic. The Kurds are the ones doing what you and your friends are so desperate for Europe to do. They are all stacking ISIS on land and in their heartland. More importantly they are winning.

However, there is a direct correlation between the point at which the Kurds started winning and the upturn in terrorism in Western Europe.

Just to be clear as I always have to be with you. I don't condone the terrorists. I think they're the lowest of the low and the sooner they're wiped out the better. However, I don't far w whole religion with one brush. I'm also not easily offended sweet cheeks (that last bit was just for you and if I could blow you a virtual kiss I would just to see you go apoplectic with rage).

I'm not looking to get any thread locked.

This is a Syria thread and I'm discussing the truck bomb that went off in Syria and impact on the Kurds. Others are discussing Turley and Russia and a tough guy is calling me "sunshine".

Are you taking this off on a tangent?
