Meanwhile, In Syria

Nobody concerned that a NATO member state are attacking the Kurds under a flimsy pretence knowing that their ranks are stocked full of US/UK fighters?
Its positively alarming. According to a Sky newsticker this morning , Erdogan has stated the operation by Turkish forces in Syria will continue despite the US being deeply concerned , or similar phraseology. I'll not be surprised if the Turks stick their noses in too far that the Yanks take violent action. QuantumTokoloshi said:
One small issue there, specifically around the " us officials confirmed" bit.
Were these the same officials that confirmed the existence of Iraqi WMDs? Let us hope not.
Regarding the gas attack, this might be of interest (not that anyone takes this morality stuff seriously): Were these the same officials that confirmed the existence of Iraqi WMDs? Let us hope not.

The ceasefire is holding...for 24 hours anyways.
At least one UK politician is speaking some sense;
From John Redwoods diary
"As for Syria, the West needs to understand that its attempt to find moderate rebels against the Assad regime who can both stay moderate and fight their way to a victory against both Assad and ISIL was never a credible policy."
There are many things I fear we'll never understand, but sometimes I wish we'd admit it and stand back.

Charming fellas these moderate FSA rebel allies of ours are.

Dogs, agents of America,” one man can be heard to say in Arabic, according to a translation by Middle East Eye, while others chant “They are crusaders and infidels”, “Down with America”, “'Get out you pigs” and “They are coming to Syria to occupy it”.
The episode will be deeply embarrassing to the US as it struggles with criticism that it lacks a coherent Syria policy. The FSA is seen by the US as a “moderate” rebel group fighting to bring down the regime of Bashar al-Assad.

what a fking mess though, as every week passes the more complicated this Syrian 'civil war' becomes and drags Turkey, Lebanon and Iraq down with it
The Americans "accidentally" bomb Syrian troops. I imagine IS can't believe their luck, they're now being given air support by the largest airforce in the world.
The US-led coalition has admitted its planes carried out an attack in eastern Syria that the Russian army says killed at least 62 Syrian troops fighting IS. The US said its planes halted the attack in Deir al-Zour when informed of the Syrian presence and would not knowingly strike them.

So, the coalition mistakenly hit Syrian troops and own up to it, and a few days later either the Russian or Syrian AF hit a Syrian red cross aid convoy in what is in my opinion, a rather pathetic tit for tat response.
Who's going to deny it first? And will the Russian ambassador to the UN, Vitaly Churkinto, be as quick to be spit in to the mic as he was the other day...?

Meanwhile, Assad's men have bombed a UN aid convoy and depot.
No doubt scherzkeks etc will decide this was done by Blackwater.

We still can't seem to hit the right guys? The US-led coalition has admitted its planes carried out an attack in eastern Syria that the Russian army says killed at least 62 Syrian troops fighting IS. Mistakes happen in wars, the Yanks have owned up, always do.
Russian and Syrian forces make mistakes too, AND commit deliberate acts on top. They never own up.
You 'can' see the difference..... can't you....?
Not as you describe it, no. I did enjoy reading your contribution, however.Russian and Syrian forces make mistakes too, AND commit deliberate acts on top. They never own up.
