If you had any real knowledge, you would be in big trouble even for hinting on here that you knew what was going on.

Its people like you Zod who really ruin this place. It used to be a good place to be before people like you came along doing all you can to try and belittle people and generally behave like a tough guy in every thread, which I can almost guarantee your not.

May be wise to keep your snide comments to yourself or seriously think about joining another forum?

Not saying you are necessarily wrong (and I have called Zod out before on his rather haughty tone) but he has been here for 14 years. hehe

Get over yourself. Have you seen the tone of his posts to me and other posters on the other side of the argument? He thought that saying he worked for the Government gave him an ace in the argument.

What really ruins this place is the number of people in threads like this with their internet loon "West bad, MSM bad" mindset.

haha - maybe he just lost his manners over the years. Just seems every thread Zod is involved in turns into a primary school argument, personally I've never seen the need. Last time I checked it was supposed to be a bit of fun coming on here.

I've exchanged many a pleasant thread comment with Zod over the years and then one day, like a disloyal hound, he bit my arm off. It's never been the same since hehe

Sorry. I don't remember that occasion. There's no lasting grudge on my side, so we can exchange pleasant thread comments still.

I've argued in a spirited fashion since I first came here when I've seen the need. I've even apologised to a few people over the years. I've never been banned generally or from a thread.

Fingers crossed.

He's pointing out that Western intelligence services have a well documented history of getting it very badly wrong where the Middle East is concerned and he is therefore asking "why should we believe them this time when they have been proven to be wrong so many times before", which seems like a very sensible way of thinking nowadays considering Military Force may be being considered in response.
That's the nature of intelligence. More often than not there's uncertainty and a great variance in lack of quality, reliability and corroboration.

The intelligence agencies aren't definitively saying it's him, they're saying the evidences indicates it is from what I have read.

No one here is in a position to say they're wrong. No one knows what information they have.

frankenstein12 said:
No I am saying there is no way the intelligence service can or will know whether this was Assad or not. They wont have anyone on the ground.
Are you privy to all the intelligence coming from Syria? Each country's information streams and assets? Which high-tech methods are being used? The back-channels? Etc etc.

I doubt anyone is, so why do you keep saying things you can't know as if they're fact?

As Zod has alluded to, I somewhat doubt you're that well positioned to make such conclusions with any weight, would post about them on the internet an then also state the Government would lie to the public about them...

Iraqi WMD anyone? Guess the "intelligence services" knew better in that case. Libya, and the bright shining future after Gaddafi. Guess the "intelligence services" knew better in that case too.
The old 'appeal to extremes' fallacy.

That's like trying to prove aeroplane travel is dangerous because on rare occasions they crash.

You are, in the most obvious way possible, in no position to say what they do and do not know.

frankenstein12 said:
Even if they did I can guarantee the Gov will spin it as being done by Assad as it suits their narrative.
You can't guarantee anything of the sort.

frankenstein12 said:
I know how our government works.
And evidently the intelligence services. Quite the repertoire.
I work FOR the government. I think I should know how they work.
So? That doesn't mean you know what the intelligence services know and do not know or can guarantee state would do with the information.

What you and others are saying is you know better than our intelligence services.
No you misinterpret what I am saying. I am not saying I now better than the security services or claiming to know what they know. All I am saying is that you really really should not trust what the media or government tell you about world events.

Sorry from now on I will post "This is a baseless assumption please do not take it as gospel from an inside source" before and after each post just to make sure no one mistakes the intent.

I didn't misinterpret anything. You literally wrote:

If you're now saying you mean you just what is contained in the first quote, then fair enough. I agree to some extent, but it applies equally that one shouldn't dismiss information just because it's from the state.

I don't dismiss info from the state out of hand. I do treat any info from the state with a huge amount of scepticism though and look to verify.

In this case I see no logical reason to believe the Government and therefore the press..

It isn't even fresh. The events in Ukraine and the proxy war in Syria are related, both are efforts to neuter Russia and its remaining satellites and to expand US influence. It's another dot on the PNAC roadmap.

The endgame is a unipolar world. Should Russia be absorbed or go down, China is next, as it is the only member of the breakaway BRIC block that could challenge the United States and its vassals (which, laughably, now includes Montenegro). The flaw in all of this is, of course, that this path leads to destruction of all the major players, as neither Russia or China is going to roll over.
How was Obama part of your theory during his 8 years?
