I was at the march on saturday with my father and girlfriend.
I'm not really surprised to see the moronic Daily Mail type rants on PH, but a little bit disappointed.
Some on the march were calling for no cuts, I don't agree with this, we need to make savings. What I do agree with is that the cuts are far too much and too quick and that they will do more harm than good.
National debt and personal debt are not really comparable.
There were far too many berets and white people with dreadlocks there for my liking though.

Marching with a load of other idealistic dreamers is easy.I'm not really surprised to see the moronic Daily Mail type rants on PH, but a little bit disappointed.

What's your solution to the problems the country faces?

I'd say the cuts aren't enough. For years this country has laboured under an ever-expanding public sector, created by politicians keen to promise the electorate the world without having to pay for it.I'm not really surprised to see the moronic Daily Mail type rants on PH, but a little bit disappointed.

Well now we're paying for it. I think quite a few people lately have begun to realise just how large a burden it all is. Since it generates no money, the public sector isn't the economy; that's the role of the private sector, the real economy that pays for the public sector. It's had enough.

It's not too difficult to see where your left-leaning tendencies come from in that you profile claims that you are a teaching assistant. I'd have more sympathy for you if you had a job that involved generating revenue rather than being a sinkhole for it.I'm not really surprised to see the moronic Daily Mail type rants on PH, but a little bit disappointed.

Can't help wondering where the TeamD offspring got/are getting/will get their education if you don't approve of teachers? Do please let us know.Ozzie Osmond said:

As the March was against cuts, then you are anti-cuts and now come into the figures for these campaigners. If you were fooled into thinking the march was anything other than a Labour sponsored march to cause hassle then you are easily sold on the other made up ideas that the march was supporting.
Also if we do not cut down on the debt and deficit then we will be in a situation where we lose our credit rating and the interest goes up, which causes more debt and then big big cuts will be enforced by the IMF.

Yup, I've chose to ignore the smug bds as no matter what you say, they have some crap argument that they'll stick by. I've noticed that they all seem to have the same degree too where they must learn to not alter their views.....
Don't knock these daft degrees. A "History of Arts" Degree can get you a job as a Princess now.TeamD said:
and whilst I think of it, senior nurses could run wards without needing managers...funny that eh?
Why stop there? Since a nurse is only the doctor's assistant we could get rid of all those useless wasters as well! And why does it take more than one fireman to operate a fire engine. When it's being driven only one of the men is actually doing anything and once they arrive surely the same guy could turn on the tap as runs out the hose?

Im going to have a little nibble on this. How many History of Art students/graduates do you know?I actually know a few, went to uni with a few. They are all to the best of my knowledge gainfully employed and earning rather well. They seem to be split between the engineering world, the finance world and the art/antiquities/collecting worlds.

You're just being stupid there. A nurse is not a doctors assistant, they have a much wider brief in terms of patient care so don't try to derail the discussion with false statements. Why do you want to protect a bunch of self-serving middle managers so much? Are you one by any chance?
Do you actually know anything about NHS managers or what they do? Thought not.XitUp said:

So, would you March along behind Ed and Ed shouting "Only 80% of the Tory cuts"?National debt and personal debt are not really comparable.

Doesn't sound quite so resonant when you have to admit the truth. the heavy-handed cuts are being made by Labour councils in an attempt to exaggerate the overall scale of the cuts and embarrass the government.

Thought not.Besides, if I understand my sisters explanation correctly (who used to be a sister but for some reason isn't now) the managements prime objective is to get in the way of patients being cared for and going on jollies (50/50 split) But it always sounds better if you wail about cutting frontline staff (that most of the public think of the as nurses, porters etc and feel are worth the money and more) doesn't it?
