He did not call him "un-American", he simply said present the credential like every President before him has, like Trump and every American has to at one point or another. He went on record as saying he hopes it is all legitimate. Trump is not looked down upon but rather admired for getting things to the point. This man is void of all PC and that is quite refreshing.

Personally, I'm not a birther and believe that most birthers are the same tinfoil hat wearing types as truthers. However, which ever ham-fisted operative posted this PDF in the current state that it is in needs to be fired.

I am much more concerned about Obama's ability than his eligibility. So far, he hasn't shown me much.

Surely the joke in all this is being played on the American public.
Considering that the law states that the President has to be a US citizen of second generation then at some point during his nomination I suspect someone in the Secret Service or FBI (don't know whos jurisdiction it would be) would have checked he was a 2nd generation US citizen. Its not like its not a very important job he was applying for and they would just take his word for it.

The Nay Sayers of more intelligence are well aware of this and are somewhat cynically using the great unwashed's doubts to undermine their legitimately majority elected official.

They should be ashamed by this it is undemocratic and plainly stupid to whinge on a matter of technicality which takes 2 minutes to disprove when you have someone you don't like in power because you didn't vote for them. Live with it, its only for 4 years and you have the Senate and Congress to fight anything he does anyway. Thats what democracy is all about.
And if one does want to whinge about him to the press well its not like they couldn't perhaps get him on being pretty ineffectual really.

FBI and Seceret Service have no mandate to check candidates qualifications. That has to be done at the State level under the State laws. Oh - and - hypertechnically - you don't actually vote for the President. You vote for the electors represented by his name. The electors actually cast the votes (and they can vote for anyone).

It's not just the birth certificate (which I admit, is stupid to even dwell on at this point), but this gent has spent MILLIONS of dollars to have a lot of his past publicly available records and information sealed. You cannot get transcripts, copies of his thesis, etc, etc. These are all things that have been, traditionally, readily available for any past candidate for the office.

Now, it may just be paranoia on his part (hoping to forestall any "misinterpretation" of past writings, etc) or it may be something more sinister. The theory is that, in at least one of his prior academic tenures, he secured entry by way of a "foreign student" scholarship/waiver/etc. If that is a case then he would have had to renounce his citizenship to qualify.

Finally, there is the small dim light of a conspiracy theory deep down inside that is saying that Obama is 100% innocent and is doing all of these things on purpose so he can label his political enemies as kooks and conspiracy theorists. There may be something to that.

I have read it in various and assorted places (mostly opinion type stuff - except for the spending of money to have things sealed) The bottom line is, by him taking action to have this sort of thing done it has the perception of impropriety. It would be akin to George W. taking preemptive legal action to have his military, legal or academic records sealed. Nixon found out the hard way that the more you attempt to hide something, the deeper the speculation goes (and is sometimes proved right)
