With the news today their shares have taken a tumble, are they worth a punt now?

They were worth shorting when the news broke.
I expect worth a punt LONG, as the news has wipe 25% off their share value - but the fines and loss of business is unlikely to be that much.

If you accept it as a punt.
I'd love to know how anyone thinks they can predict the impact of the US investigation.

The day I read someone asking is it worth a punt getting long as a stock goes through all time highs is the day I will eat my socks. That's how you make real money, not catching knives like Standard Chartered.

IT probably is worth a punt, but this story is gonna drag on and on and frankly it hasn't declined enough. One problem is that it's a banking stock and is therefore quite a crappy thing to own in general. Let it fall more... one day ain't enough.
I suppose you could start averaging in now if ya liked!

I don't have a link but The "attack" was from New York, not the Federal authorities. New York is perplexed why the Fed is not supporting their allegations. Read into that whatever you like, but I would guess there is some fed money in there somewhere Worth a punt....if the markets were flat it would be a yes, but money to made elsewhere at present.

It worked if you got in at £11.50 and out today.
Much uncertainty though.
