Any PHers heard anything back from then yet?

I had a letter at the end of August saying I was being considered for compensation.

Thought it was just me that heard nothing.
Nope, I got a letter out of the blue a few months ago and then nothing.
I think it said to allow 12 weeks to hear back.

I wish they would hurry up. With the PPI payment I'll soon have enough for the timeshare deposit smile

From Thisismoney.co.uk:-

What should victims do and when will compensation be paid?
Everybody will be sent a letter by CPP from August 29. The compensation will be paid to all card protection policies bought or renewed since January 14, 2005, but only to people who bought identity protection policies over the telephone.
Compensation is expected to be paid in the spring of next year.

What did you put as the reason for requesting compensation? I have two lots of forms to fill in and it asks for a reason. They did lie to me on the phone and say my local area was one of the highest for identity theft, is that good enough? or can you just say that it was mis-sold?

i can't remember exactly - but I basically wrote

I have no recollection of requesting CCP but I am certain that I would not have done so as I knew at the time that I didn't need it. Therefore, I can only assume it was missold to me.

obviously did the trick

I genuinely think my refund will be pence as it only covers policies starting from 2005. I took mine out in 2002 and I'm pretty sure cancelled them in 2005.

I have three claims in....

Recieved 2 cheques yesterday, £170 & £172.

Both letters state that I'd only be recieving one cheque, so confused. I guess its from each organsation (bank) involved?

Hopefully third cheque will arrive shortly.

Result.

Hope the postman brings me a check today. I'm expecting £200+ Whoop.

As for the reason, i just picked the option on the letter relevant to me and wrote it out again.

That's what I've done, basically just that the risk of identity theft was greatly exaggerated and that I was falsely told that I would be liable for debts amassed by someone else using my details. For the other one I put that I would be covered by my bank for money spent on a lost or stolen card, and that the card protection cover was therefore unnecessary.
