Hi Matt!

Vanguard Lifestrategy with Charles Stanley Direct is exactly what I've done. I previously had it with HL, but switched due to their charges changing. Charles Stanley seem fine so far though...

Personally, I'd bung some in your pension (if possible), rather than an ISA if you're a higher rate tax payer. Unless you want to access it before retirement?

It's always handy to have access if I need it, hopefully not. I can put more into the pension but company contribution is capped.

In that case, in my opinion, you're doing exactly the right thing. All I would say is if you've got excess cash that you're sure you won't need it makes more sense from a tax perspective to put it in your pension, as chances are you'll get 40% tax relief on the way in and get taxed 20% or less on the way out (compared with no tax relief on the ISA and no tax charge).

Well wasn't this a lovely informative exchange. Surely though, Mattt, you should buy a Sagaris.
