Student Finance query

My eldest has decided to change universities this year. It's a long story but basically she was doing Pre Mental at Southampton and now wants to do Mental+SWT at Bristol.

Southampton have sent her a demand for £963 to repay student finance that she has taken out this year. They have stated that her last day in Education was 22 May, which I struggle to understand as she was in exams till mid June and didnt leave halls till end June. Also she is continuing at Bristol this year and onwards to graduation. They have also apparently said that there is no deadline to make the payment by.


Has anyone been through similiar, or knows what the rules are when changing uni's mid degree?

The date in May was probably the official end date, ie last scheduled lecture. There's usually a break before the exam period, IIRC my last day at uni was mid april, then exams during June. The contract with the halls is usually independent of the course as well and often run/owned by a third party. Accommodation dates from 1st sept - 30th june are pretty standard irrespective of actually being there that duration. HTH
