Zero/Low Value Direct Debit

Looking to open a Satander 123 account, but apparently you need two direct debits to be elligible

I dont fancy transfering my old current account over, so can anyone recommend a low/zero value direct debit I can set up ?

DD from and to your own account with another bank, that's what I do.

That's not a DD it's a Standing Order.

There is nothing in the T&Cs that says the DDs must be paying monthly so sign up for something like www.1899.com and/or www.18185.co.uk and make a call through them once every 6 months.

Or just transfer 2 of your existing dd's over.

Tesco Savings account uses DD for regular payments (yes, a DD not standing order). So a DD to move £5 to Tesco each month, and a SO to move the £5 back to Santander.

Ah the 123 account. 3% interest and cashback on certain types of DD payments.

I moved all my qualifying DD's to Santander to make use of the cashback and offset the £2 monthly account fee.

Did I move my main banking to them? Don't be so fking stupid!!

Set up a direct debit to a credit card... Doesn't actually have to take anything just has to be set-up for minimum payment

Santander customer service have been excellent for me so far (I previously used them for a mortgage and they were shockingly bad) the interest on my account wasn't credited as lovefilm was set-up as a standing order (which I didn't know).
One 5 minute call later and they credited the interest for upto the current day (approx 6 weeks) and kept the Internet for the month forward so I got 2 weeks double interest and they credited an extra £5 for my call.

Direct Debit instruction failed - no info avaialble why

(Applied with 18185 Both are the same company with the same mandate)
