I had this exact email when selling mine earlier in the year. I didn't even consider it to be a scam, just thought it a bit ridiculous. Fortunately for me I had people who wanted to come and view so that email went way down on the priority! I dont want to start an entire new thread on this subject, so I will ask here. I am moving next month and want to buy a vehicle immediately upon getting in the country instead of throwing money down the toilet with a rental car. I could buy from a dealer in the Heathrow area of London and just use my Debit or Credit card to purchase the vehicle (looking at small used SUV's around 5000 pounds, RX300, Nissan X trail, etc) But on auto trader there are much better deals from private buyers. What would the best way be, that a seller would trust, to purchase a vehicle? (I dont really want to carry that much cash with me when I travel) Wire transfers from the States seem to be listed at taking up to a week. Is there another way to transfer money efficiently and still be trustworthy for a seller?
