I live in a relatively cheap to live town and i earn 26,200 a year.

Now all of my friends seem to be on more than me barring one, yet when i tell people my salary they think its decent.

What do you think is a good salary for someone in thier mid 20's who doesent live in an expensive city??

For working a five hour shift at McDonalds that's a good wage. For being a Consultant in a large hospital, not so much.

I'd say you are on a good salary for your age. It's more than most people earn and should allow you a decent lifestyle.

That seems pretty reasonable to me. In my area of the company I work for mid-20s folk are typically product marketing executives or analysts and on that sort of money.

Don't you think that what you actually do is a much more useful predictor of your salary, instead of just age?

Do you have rent? Do you have a Mortgage? How far do you commute and what do you use to?

Bit of how long is a piece of string this question without knowing your full financial situation.

They do both work very very hard probably 50+ hours a week and the non uni one works hardest the other one won't make it.

Do you enjoy your lifestyle? That's all that really matters. You're already in the wealthiest percentile of the world population, so IMO you should think more about what you can do with your salary instead of what you might be missing out on! I've done the whole 'X makes £100 more a month than me' and all it will do is make you unhappy - no matter how much you make, there's always someone making more...

I would not settle for less than £150k PA. Although I would live a frugal lifestyle; I should drive a (remapped) 535d during a week day, and an MX5 on a weekend.

I should own a watch that cost equal to the MX5.

I should read the Daily Mail, and vote Tory (if not UKIP)

Also, who here hates Mums Net?!?! Nest of vipers! AMEYERIGHT?!

£25 to £30k is a decent wage for someone in your shoes.
