good salary for a mid 20's person

Its certainly possible but certainly not the norm or even 'uncommon'. Its very rare id say.
Half of that is perfectly doable though - many people I know hit 50k by mid 20's.
£50k I can believe for sure I know a few of the grads in my company who are around 26 - 28 and on 45 - 60k range Half of that is perfectly doable though - many people I know hit 50k by mid 20's.
But £100k is another league again...
I should be on about 35 - 40k at 24/25yrs old and thought that was pretty good going it must be because I am not living in London I suppose!
When i was 23 i got my first (what i consider) well paid job that was about £35k, before then i was earning low-mid 20's. that felt like a lot of money for a few months until i moved out and bought a house, then it felt like just enough money, i now earn almost double that at 31 and still don't feel like i have much more disposable money.
I don't know who all these people are in there 20's earning 100k+ nobody i know is earning that, but then again i'm not university educated or from an affluent area so i guess it depends who your peers are.
I will also agree that how much i have ever been paid has made zero difference to my life happiness as the more you earn and have then the greater the thing is that you need to get excited

As long as you're earning more than your friends you will feel superior and happy with your life.
I got to a six figure salary at 25, although my friends have since caught up.
What business was that in? I got to a six figure salary at 25, although my friends have since caught up.
That's a huge amount of money at any age let alone 25.
Graduated at 21, 2 years in big 4 (hated it), 2 years in a bank (perm) then went contracting.
I did get quite lucky in that I

Work in finance. Trust me there are loads of muppets earning 100k with ease.OP, this thread isn't a good view on wages as most earning less than you on here won't post.
Coming from doncaster though and that is a very good wage compared to my friends.
At 27 I was earning £28k and had a Noble, a house, a vx220 track car and a daily driver. I was considered super rich by my peers and a lottery winner by my neighbours.

A decent salary is one that gives you a lifestyle you are happy with so in London that will be many hundreds of thousands as those poor fools have to pay millions for a decent sized house and all the trimmings that go with it, for someone living in the frozen north that could be £20k.
Reading through this thread has put a few things into perspective for me. Although I like to think I'm intelligent (don't we all?) I was never particularly academic during school. Partly due to a complete lack of motivation in my GCSE years (laziness?) and some serious trouble at home while I was 15-16 with two alcoholic parents, I left school having been withdrawn from most of my GCSE exams and scraping through with just a few low grades. Went back to night class at college a few years back as I was considering an apprenticeship with Scottish Power to be a linesman, however by the time I'd got the required grades and September had come around the economic situation had taken a downturn and jobs were scarce.
Rattled around a few employers since then and now at the ripe old age of 25 I find myself working for a local family owned business as part of a small site maintenance team on £17k a year. Have been there a few years but with it being such a small team there's no career path as such and prospects for advancement in the team are pretty much nil.
A chance check on the SP website reveals they're now taking on apprenticeships for the position I was interested in a few years ago, and I'm seriously considering applying as once qualified the wage of £23.5k a year with more benefits and better prospects than my current position is quite appealing. However I don't know if I can afford the pay drop to £10.5k a year that they're initially offering for the first year of training, now I'm renting a house with my partner and her two children it's not just myself I've got to think about.
Some food for thought there no doubt. Sorry I haven't got anything to contribute to the discussion I just fancied a waffle!
TL/DR: OP is doing great on £26k a year and I'm well jealous.

I'm 24 and on £22.5k, whilst also receiving about £4k a year in study support towards ACCA Exams.
Within 2-2.5 years and when qualified my salary should be £35kish based on others and then it's up to me to get a promotion into a Senior Management Accountant role/Finance Manager. which seems to attract £40k-£60k+ where I am.
Mid 20's - Outside of London I'd say £25k is good, £20k is ok.
Nearing 30's, - I'd be adding £10k onto those figures for good / ok.
All IMO of course.

Worst "I earn more money than you thread"
Everyone lives to their means.
Utter rubbish.Everyone lives to their means.
If everyone lived to their means they'd be no repossessions no payday lenders no debt crisis and no savings.
The vast majority absolutely do not live to their means

Ha Ha !!! Thats what everyone says until they actually have to do it and give up their life to do it ..... which most people actually won't do when reality bites !!!
When I was doing their jobs .... years ago I did 6 days a week traveling all over Europe / the US and less than 24hrs a week in the UK, every week with 15 days holiday a year.
Did it for 7 years but as you can imagine it trashes your life ..... not sure its worth it ?
