Online payment of tax underpayment

For the tax year 2013/14 I completed a self assessment online. The calculation correctly showed that I owe £77. I selected the option on the form that said 'do not adjust tax code for 14/15' I.e. I just want to pay it. I made the payment online via the government gateway several months ago (May-ish).

If I now log in to my gateway account, my statement balance says that I owe £77 but I have also overpaid £77... Will this sort itself out in January 2015 or do I need to call them and sort it out on the phone? I don't want my 14/15 tax code adjusted to account for it.

Call them and ask the money to be reallocated correctly - you probably paid using the 12/13 reference.
