Hey

So I've just checked out my Equifax report/rating. I know they don't hold much ground with lenders but something's been ticking me off.

My score, for some reason is 219? Which is beyond low. I checked through the whole report, everything is green. Electoral roll, repayment time, everything is green. However, there are 8 searches in the last 12 months but two of the searches were duplicated, the bank seemed to do the search twice. So that doesn't make much sense to me.

Also, two of the searches are from early November last year, shouldn't they be wiped off too?

Regardless, these searches CANNOT be enough to put my score so low as 219? Surely there is something wrong here?

Any input?

From memory, searches stay on your credit file for two years.....

219 is a low score.....do you have a mortgage? stable address and electoral roll history? have you not had a lot of credit accounts in the past?

No.

Individual lenders will have their own way of assessing you. Equifax are not a lender, so the number they give you is meaningless (or at best a very poor guide as to how a lender would assess you).

Fair play

But what I'm not understanding is WHY is the indication so low?

All my fields are green, "Searches" is Amber only because of the duplicate searches. Yet it is still so so low?
