Just out of interest - who do you guys use? I have banked with HSBC for 20+ years (personal / business / credit cards). Previous mortgage (personal) with Standard Life.

Over the next 5-10 years i want to create a small portfolio of local modern low maintenance houses in a desirable location. I would use an approx 30% deposit for each with the remainder on a REPAYMENT mortgage. Question is - would HSBC or Standard Life be worth talking to, or should i be talking to a specialist(?) BTL lender?

Cheers

Barclays are changing their buy to let criteria in the next few days/weeks I understand. May be worth looking at.
