I have a quick question that i cant seem to find a definitive answer to.
I currently have a property, my partner and I are looking to move house and i want to keep my current house and rent it out.
My partner has never owned a house or been on a mortgage etc so she is a first time buyer where i am not. But if we were to get a joint mortgage would we be able to get first time buyers rates. The reason this sprang into my head was with the isa that is proposed to come out to help first time buyers if the con's stay in power, would she be able to put the money in the ISA or when we go to move will they just say 'your not a first time buyer'.
We would want to use both our salaries when applying for the mortgage so we can borrow more.

thanks

I imagine you'll have to wait and see the detail in the legislation which will follow the headline announcements made this week.

In terms of timescale, last year's Budget was formalised in July.

You can't gain access to HTB products if you own any other property.
