US Dollar bills to Euros

Is there a sensible way of changing US Dollar bills to Euros in this country?

If I do it here, will I suffer two lots of sell/buy spreads?
Or if I exchange them when I arrive at the French side of the tunnel,
will I get a cr@p rate anyway?

Change them when you get there, you'll pay twice in the UK.

I've got the same issue, I've got $500 left over from a holiday last year and we are going to Fuerteventura next month and was wondering when/where would be best to exchange them for euros
