HMRC not receiving registered post?
Discussion
HMRC have received one of my letters! It was the one sent yesterday to the Bradford office. The one listed as the place to send the penalty cheque to. Quelle surpise.
At least they can't claim to have not received anything now. I guess I have to wait a week or two for a response now.

Yes, it's annoying to be forced into doing something you don't want to do. Online schmonline eh!
(and my tax disk is still in the windscreen even though it's not required... when the internet evenutually breaks we'll be the ones laughing, oh yes...)
I just prefer to sit down away from the computer and go through everything and fill out paper forms. I much prefer paper for "official" communications. It allows me to go through everything to double check I have got everything correct, all in one place, before submitting everything. I can take copies of everything too so I can demonstrate exactly what I submitted. This proved useful as I've already sent HMRC one exact duplicate as it is. Besides, as a fellow photographer I'm sure you know what I mean when I say I spend enough time in front of the computer as it is!(and my tax disk is still in the windscreen even though it's not required... when the internet evenutually breaks we'll be the ones laughing, oh yes...)
Bit of a resurrection here, but did anyone have any luck with registered/recorded etc?
I went through all the procedure to get an online signon to do my self assessment and the first thing the system says is that I am "not eligible" to file online! As an offshore-dweller I must either use paper or buy professional softare to file online. My long-suffering accountant died this year so I am going it alone since there is very little to actually file and I always keep copies and send proof of delivery for items of importance.
Can't believe the amount of paper I had to waste, filling in zero boxes!
