Now where I go, washing is free, I bring my own food, and I wash my bed stuff at homes, so as far as I'm concerned there are no additional costs to if I was sleeping in my own bed at home (aside from maybe putting the washing machine once or twice more per month.
Best keep quiet about that!

I work from home and we used to be allowed £6/wk for extra gas/elec - our firms last HMRC inspection knocked it down to £4/wk.

bigfatnick, have you tried the Halifax?? They were great when I applied for a mortgage with them last March, I'm also a lorry driver and my wages are made up of various payments, hourly rate, overtime rate, early start payment, weekend enhancement and also a weekly bonus, all this was taken into account in the application process and I got offered more than I needed.

Good luck

This could easily just mean that Halifax didn't need to use your "weekly bonus" as you weren't trying to stretch your income as much as the OP maybe trying to.....
