Bit of a query on credit checks:

Recently went to buy a new mobile phone and order an iPhone through MPD for a handset and provider would be EE. Got accepted and awaited delivery of my handset.
Phoned MPD and they said delay on handsets and had to extend the ETA
I found another company Mobiles.co.uk had a handset in stock so i ordered that but through EE as the provider. EE automatically refused the credit check, and mobiles kept trying to push through EE who rejected it a couple more times. I hadn't cancelled the original order with MPD.
Mobiles.co.uk said not sure why EE rejected it and lets try O2 who said yes i can have the phone but I need to provide a £150 deposit.
I declined and rang EE who said they must have rejected the second attempts for credit as they already had set-up an account in my name and often these rejects are system driven and as they did accept me before I can take a deal with them and everything is fine.

Concern i have is that EE rejected me a couple of times for credit check, even though I had been accepeted at first, and O2 asking for a holding deposit has this impacted my credit rating?

I have a excellent credit rating otherwise, recently moved house in the last few years and have spent the last year moving all addresses and registering on the electoral role. Concern now isif I need to take credit on other items, or if I cancel my order with EE for the phone and find another deal elsewhere will i be rejected and then further impacts on credit file?

Multiple applications for similar products in a short period of time. Probably red-flagged somewhere in one of the systems as a potential fraud indicator.

You need to check your file yourself now and possibly put a note on it explaining what was going on.
