Amex Centurion/Black card

I've had one for years. Takes the place of a personal assistant for me. I travel 70-100k miles years. They sort out out my travel and bookings. Automatic enrolment at top levels in a variety of hotel and car rental programs, much easier to get resto bookings, never have to wait.
Is it worth it?....depends on your lifestyle. Its just a credit card with some very useful benefits for me. Cannot tell anyone else to get one. I am very happy with it.
I put a fair amount on it annually.
Do they still charge the 2.99% forex fee for anything you pay for not using £'s? That's the killer for me with the Ames Platinum card.Is it worth it?....depends on your lifestyle. yes, irritatingly. My US amex cards have no forex fee, but my UK ones do, despite them having a higher annual fee.
It is my pet peeve that I always raise with customer service when asked if I am happy with the service.

I'd never heard of it. I've had my current Amex account for approx 20 months and casually asked the customer services lady if there were any other products that would suit me.
She replies yes sir. Centurion. Oh right, what's that then. I can't talk about it sir. I can tell you about all other cards but centurion have their own department.
I then asked about fees and benefits and she told me the same thing about her not knowing anything and centurion will be in touch
I lead a fairly simple life. So don't need a concierge. But would be interested to hear from them nonetheless

About 12 years ago, having spent very large sums on my Platinum Card, I received the very expensive invitation box for Centurion. Suitably impressed I took them up.
A week or so later they wrote to me to tell me I had beed declined!!!
I called up and asked them why on earth they invited me to an invitation only product only to decline me. They told me it was a mistake and they were very sorry, if I was still interested they would reprocess the invitation.
They then declined me again!
I cancelled my Platinum Card after this and would never use them again.

[quote=ellroy]The income and asset numbers mentioned earlier, as per google, are a ways off.
You can be invited by people other than AMEX, some Private Banks for example, and the numbers are lower than those quoted. Still substantial though, especially with the way the pound is going.[/quote
The centurion card does it for me over the others. Ok £2.5 k is a lot but I certainly get my money's worth.
