Bloody thing !!!
The Tiv arrived back at the garage yesterday.Charged battery and it started first time. Drove 3 miles home all ok.
Must have been the heat and old dodgy connections
I'm about to completely rewire the car starting with a newer fuse/relay box.
Also redesign the dash and sort out the heater / air distribution system
Wish me luck

Seeing Mick on the forum reminded me I bought one of these off the bay. They are available from about 25 quid. They will start your car several times (maybe 10 or 20 can't remember). The white battery is included to show the scale. Probably weighs about half a kilo, has built in torch and you can charge your mobile phone several times.
It was used on the beetle that left its lights on - when all the fuses were in and worked a treat ! (Some of you will know what I am talking about).
Probably would have got you home as once started you can charge it up either by mains or the cig lighter.
Just thought it was worth a mention as a handy little gadget.
Cheers Greg
